Anyone else playing Turf Wars? It’s pretty similar to some Facebook “conquest” games, but the element of using the GPS to claim ACTUAL turf around you makes it interesting. It’s free, and playing a round is quick.

My mob is a pissant 13 people, so I’d really like it if some a you palookas would join up. My mob code is MASUS195 if you want to join up.

If you haven’t gotten MiniSquadron from www.appventcalendar.com yet, do so. Great little game.

GeoSpark is really a great little time waster… but how do people get over a million points!?

I don’t know, but add Krayzkrok, Tom Chick and Valiumaddict to your openfeint list. Bonus points for scoring higher than Krayzkrok!

Oh right, my OpenFeint account is cnahr if you want to check my pathetic high scores.

Feel free to add Brakara to your OpenFeint friends list, Chris (or anyone else for that matter), since I’m someone you can actually beat.

Edit: btw, v1.1 has a fresh new leaderboard.

I’d lament the loss of my geoSpark high score (42,420 Tom, are you listening?) if I thought it wasn’t beatable. But that would be silly.

Dude. Huh huh huh. Like, dude. Huh huh. 420. Huh huh huh. Duuuude.

600 dude. 52,600.

This new version takes a while to get used to because the behaviour has changed slightly, but the 1UP bonus almost seems like cheating! However, once the fast spinning yellow dudes arrive it’s all over.

470 dude. 64,470 :)

I just realized if you hold the x2 bonus before hitting the shapes, you twice the bonus on each shape in the chain. Heh, I thought it was only q one time bonus.

Added them I know, tehNellie on openfeint. Now to see what all the fuss is about :)

Oh god, I’m hooked, even if beating 5k score seems like a real achievement at the moment.

Doom Classic is on sale for $2.99, and Doom Resurrection is on sale for $1.99.

Edit: Cubit beat me to it!

either of these control well for the iphone?

Doom Classic seems to control fairly well, with a couple of different control schemes to choose from. Check out the Wolfenstein 3D demo (the full version is 99 cents right now iirc) if you want a sense of how it plays.

Doom Resurrection is a rail shooter where you aim by tilting the phone. It works pretty well, and looks great.

I just snagged these this morning so this is just my first impression, but at five bucks for the pair, this seems like a pretty safe investment.

Sword of Fargoal is half off, $1.99, today only!

I’m going to shatter my lurker status and try as respectfully as possible to point to the game I’ve just released, Rogueship (itunes link). It’s a 2d space trading coffee break game, classic in its design by reason of both nostalgia and budget. :)

I’m actually also still looking for more Ad Hoc testers; if anyone is interested, just PM me here.

Thanks!

To those that haven’t jailbroken their phone, an NES emulator called Nescaline just showed up in the app store for $6.99. If you want it, you better jump now because I’m sure it will be gone before the night ends.

How did this ever get approved by Apple in the first place?

Much of their approval process is automated, iirc. Sometimes things sneak in that definitely shouldn’t. :)
