The only problem I have is after about 10 minutes of dragging, the tip of my finger starts to sweat and dragging gets harder and harder as though I’m dragging across rubber and not glass. At this point a mistake usually comes swiftly, generally around the 60-70k scoring mark. But the knowledge that I can beat my 70k (almost) score keeps “dragging” me back. That, and seeing my score slip down the friends leaderboard - scoundrels!
I have that problem in Sky Force Reloaded which I want to plug at this opportunity since it’s an excellent scrolling shooter that also supports OpenFeint. Play Sky Force Reloaded, gain easy achievements, boost your gamer score!
Yeah. Anyway, icky residue on the screen that looks nasty and makes dragging difficult is a big problem with the iPod. Apple needs to invent some kind of self-cleaning touch screen.

Battle for Wesnoth is on sale for $1.99. I’m not crazy about the demo, the menus are text are way too small. It needs both a zoom and new menus. For $1.99 I might pick it up and hope that it gets patched eventually.

So since I’m such a big fan of Bebot, when I read a forum post comparing ThumbJam to it as the new easy to use music/irritating sounds app I went and checked out some of the (admittingly) shilltastic youtube videos of it and was blown away. It’s basically a massive library of sampled instruments in ultra high quality that you can play in any key with any note scale (there has to be over 200) with a super clean interface that lets you quickly assemble loops and make some great sounding stuff. It’s really better to see it working, especially the way you can use the accelerometer to control recording volume while you play. Basically if you bought Bebot, buy this. $5.99 is expensive but the sheer amount of things you can do in the initial release is staggering.

SOLD on Thumbjam, that rocks.
Hell, yes. I got an ipod touch for Christmas so I’ve been feasting on new apps. So far Thumbjam is the coolest one I’ve seen. Thanks for the tip!

better late then never :-) My new iphone game which I was working on for the last 6 months (with creative breaks)… Now it is the way I like it, but it became very niche in the process.
After Avoid Hitting Piano (which was very, very fast). This time a very slow game. I would claim that the gallery mini game is the slowest game in the app store. To get 1 point you have really to be patient. Some might hate it, but I hope it will find its audience.
The game was submitted today, so I expect it to come out in a week or two.
Promo Codes will be given away soon… Enjoy and please give me some feedback, if you find some time… many thanks,
George

it is basically Scrabble and Domino but with colors. Butterflys can be touched or colors dropped on them with different effects… then there is a match-3 mini game which can give you some boost for the main game. You have 10 rounds to fill your green XP bar or it is game over. you have a deck and credits where you can buy color combos.
The main goal though is to get to the golden butterfly…

I’ve been playing Defender Chronicles and I’ve hit a wall. I’m at the point where you first have two missions to choose from, and they both kick my butt. They both have multiple entries and I just get overwhelmed too fast. Anyone have tips?

Oh yes.
I have no musical talent, but somehow ThumbJam makes me feel like a genius.
Besides, “you mash your hand on the screen and noise comes out” is super-popular with the baby.
I could go through a couple of tips here but I’m anything but an expert. Try this thread containing a fair few hints and tips, also if your still stuck after reading through plenty of people here are avid fans that can probably help you out.

This has been quoted above already but it’s worth mentioning more than once. Easily my favorite iphone app.
I wonder if you could re-create the Lee Evans Trio with thumbjam.

btw. does anybody know the organ music ASLSP by John Cage? As Slow As Possible (ASLSP) is currently being played for the next 600 years in Halberstadt, Germany. One note per year!
So this brings me back to Quozzle, where I included a side game, which I could not release on it’s own, but it fits as an addition to Quozzle. The side game was kind of inspired by ASLSP. It plays very slow. To score a 1-8 points you need at least 5 minutes. And the flickering pieces get slower and slower. It does not take 600 years, but for a video game it is very slow. It plays to musical single notes one after another, so you can phase in (?)… Somehow I had ASLSP in the back of my mind when creating “Phases” as a side game in Quozzle.
You can see it briefly in the Quozzle video on youtube…

So my company’s App is now on sale.
Bee Spelled is a word game that is heavily inspired by Bookworm adventures and Internet memes. You play as a spelling bee as he progresses through 10 levels of opponents in an effort to defeat them and their bad spelling.
There was originally a much bigger story in which Chub had to rescue the Queen Spelling Bee, else the entire world would be plunged into a state of bad English, poor spelling and terrible memes. If only we had more time and could subsist on air alone. :P
I hope the Qt3 iPhone brigade can spare $0.99 to enjoy the game, or let us know how we can make improvements. Thanks!
