And if you bought the GTCs, you can sell them through the Forums, and not risk anything at all. You also don’t have to pay market fees.

I love the comments on that article: "The person who lost those PLEX cards is possibly one of the biggest morons in the history of EVE."
Ahh, the sympathy of MMO players.

Is this with QCats then, or are you with another corp? Are you guys open for recruitment? I’ve got a group of 3-4 guys that want to get involved with it. They range anywhere from having been in the game for a year and about 16m skillpoints to a few months old. We’re all PVP noobs, though, for the most part :)
Oh, it was SpaceMonkey’s who lost this?
That just took it from amusement to tasty tasty glee.
Ill check if we are recruiting- I beleive we are, and I only have 12m skill points, and do just fine bringing a frigate to giant fleet battles.
my target painters are actually kind of helpful, and you always need fast tackle- which will be done by half people in 100m frigates like dramiels, and half by new pvp people.
oh: the biggest improvement to your pvp prowess will undoutebly being having 3 or 4 overview tabs- otherwise you cannot do anything.
EDIT: we are- dunno what exactly you have done, but requirement number one is not to have sec status under -5.

Killed in a Kestrel no less. That ship is practically made of glass. What in the hell was that pilot thinking?

Tonight I decided to take my first foray into trading. I lugged an old CRT screen up to the kitchen, and set it up next to my new 24inch LCD, and started looking through the markets. I began by looking at the fits I have in relation to that region of space. After a while things started to turn up. A bit of worry later, especially over entering the correct figures, I put my first buy order (for trade) up in Jita. I have about seven of them up now, and it looks like some will be filled by tomorrow, others could take a week. Either way, the next worry then comes into play, hauling it out of Jita. I know with the values I’m playing with, it’s unlikely I’ll get ganked, but there’s still worry.
I’ve only put 50 million into it, but I’m still anxious that everything works out. For some of the stuff I’m getting such a good margin on it, that I must have got things wrong, even taking into account the amount sold in my destination region. Still, it was a fun night, and I predict a fun few days, especially watching my wallet blink every few minutes. I hope I finally find a good isk source.
One question does beg though. Why would anyone who has gone to the trouble of manufacturing T2 items, sell it straight to a buy order? Are people really that impatient with something they’ve already spent time on?
rumours (unconfirmed) say he was trying to play the plex market (buy low outside jita, resell higher in jita) using his entire corp/alliance wallet.
Supposed profit / plex was meant to be c. 1.2 million isks
some people I know do it for convenience, others hate the 0.1isk game inherent to any sell orders, others just don’t care and are happy with a lower profit margin … you can pretty much apply any “real life” reason to eve :)

That’s a really shitty working margin. Off the top of my head I can think of a whole lot of things that give a better margin than that by an order of magnitude or more on the same investment.
Turning 21b into 21.08b is not really ‘playing the market’. Hell you could probably do better than that just sat in Jita turning over tritanium from buy orders.
Is there a better place to follow the aftermath of this guy’s poor risk assessment?
You mean like running a day’s worth of PI at zero risk?
agreed- I can make 1.2 mil ratting in low sec for 10 minutes, and I dont need to risk 20 billion for it.
in other news- heading out to 0.0 for the weekend to make money: I have terrible shield skills and cannot tank lvl 4 FW missions alone.
about plexes/probing in 0.0: anyone run them, and do I trip over officer gear if I have a probing ship?

I’ve gotten faction gear from anomalies, they were Sansha Havens or Sanctums though and harder than level 4s. Other than that I don’t have much experience with the real plexes.

‘Easy’ faction gear comes from belt rats but obviously the downsides to this are:
A: these are rare spawns
B: You’re in a belt in 0.0
If you find a faction spawn in a belt though, they are significantly easier than level 4 missions as you generally only have to tank 2-3 battleships and 3 frigates or so.
Anomalies and plexes that end in faction bosses tend to be harder than level 4s.
I saw a faction rat spawn at a gate in low sec and dropped a daredevil BPC, too bad i wasnt fast enough.
you won’t find officers in plexes/anomalies. Only in a belt. Good luck finding one :)
You get deadspace stuff from DED plexes (x/10 type plexes) and escalations but they are usually nasty in 0.0 (much worse than lvl4)
if you are against gurista/serpentis, ishtar is the best ship to use. Not sure what’s best vs. other rats. Or a pimped-out T3 possibly. In general, it’s pretty difficult to find/run the best plexes with only 1 account.

I went a bit crazy tonight and put another 100m isk into the market. So I’ve now dropped 150m isk into it, and orders are going well. So soon I’ll be looking to cash it all in in my target system. However, when I had 50m worth of stuff, I wasn’t worried about getting it out of Jita (well, I was a little, but not too much.) Now with 150m I recognise I’m a nice gankable target. So how exactly do I get it out?
Some people have recommended courier contracts, but I’m not too sure if that’s affordable given my margins. And all anyone has to do to figure out what I’m selling where is to break the contract and cash in with my items. (Although I could get it hauled to a staging system.) I could also haul it myself. With about 6/7k m3 of stuff, I can fit an Iteron to have about 14k EHP split between shields and armor. If there was a guide to ganking in Jita it’d be helpful. I imagine with insurance, the module cost on a couple of battlecruisers would work out at at least a 3:1 return when you get about 100mill dropped.
Transport ships offer no help, WCS are useless when you’re being alpha’d and a cloak wouldn’t work within about 50k of Jita 4/4 with so many people hanging around there. A freighter is too expensive for me, and seems overkill for what I’m hauling (although I imagine I’ll need one eventually.)
Any advice on how to get stuff out would be appreciated.
