Yes , I derail every CSM thread to an anti ank campaign … still I could have bolded it to stick out more ;) …
Keep up the good work

Who is ankh? If you’re going to make a good anti-campaign I want lots more dirty gossip and quotes to laugh at.

http://evajobse.net/

She is a carebear CSM (at least thats the way she presents herself).

But she doesnt know how to use her brain.

E.g. she is totally against an unconsensual PvP but she was willing to fly a tackler to learn about PvP.
Guess what makes PvP in Eve Unconsensual ? The point on that frigging tackler.

The lack of understanding this principle disqualifies herself from everything IMHO, but her background makes it even more miserable.

She is, to her own website, a “Game Design student”, which makes her apparent inability to understand the above fact even worse.

She also accused me in “wanting to AFK FW missions” while the only fact I wanted was to pick my target system by browsing FW mission and would have agreed on a 1/1000 of the payout for FW mission and admitting in the same post that she dual afk boxes domis in lvl4 missions for plex cards so she can keep up with playing.

Also the fact that I in a FW was a valid target for everybody, while she would have been in the savety of her lvl4 missions (save = needs to be scanned down, has concord showing up vs FW mission being inlow-sec and beacon visible to everybody) was something that she couldnt comprehend.

She was also not willing to give in into smaller fixes (being able to choose a target system but with large reduced payout) but rather jsut always demanded a total overhaul to which CCP already stated that it’s not on their shedule in a long time again.

Now though she does currently campaings for a FW overhaul, its coming from her carebear point of view and (here Im just guessing) only to rally enough votes to vote her into the CSM again (which it sadly did).

So there she is not being totally retarded (okay the totally was my interpretation) the fact stays, its a wasted seat on the CSM to somebody totally unqualified.

Interesting.

i’m afraid that from that description alone, she seems to represent at least half the population of tranquility…

Do you guys think the game will be crushed because of the division between carebears and PvP’ers who don’t want them?

Not at all. I don’t engage in PVP, I’m mostly an industrialist, and I get pissed when I get podded in low or no sec, sure…but I understand that “space” is a risky place, and it happens. Demanding it never happens is just ridiculous, and those players will likely stop playing, to be replaced with more understanding ones.

Also, the way eve is made the carebears know that a lot of their income would dry up without PVPers refreshing ships, implants, pos gear, moon goo, etc etc. It is a good system like that.

What Calistas said.

Ok- reactivated and ready to do some missions, and industry, and pvp in a frigate or cruiser! wooo!

If you get in on now we have a cruiser fleet going

She is very vocal, which isn’t really a bad trait but with her views on Eve (which I know from Dierdra Vaal who met her during their previous CSM times) is very different from Dierdras guess on what the general population really wants and especially what CCP wants for Eve it is bad.

Also I assume that something you think you want, is not always what you really want, so she steps in making all those carebear want for more “protection”, while what they actually want is more “destruction”.

Not at all. It’s very unlike other MMO’s with the same mix, and especially unlike WoW. Every part is needed, hisec, lowsec, and nullsec, and PvP rules are very much a part of it. I think it’s one of the things they did very well in this game, the tiered PvP model and safety ruleset.

It’s like going to the public pool. Sure, the shallow end has a lot of people and can be fun, but the deeper you go, the more you can do, and a lot of the real fun (diving, etc) only happens in the deep end. Not everyone can swim, or swim well, and a lot of people avoid the deep end. It’s also a given that you should be able to at least dog paddle and tread water before you venture too far out.

Eve and it’s economy seemed to have been designed the system as well, creating a very viable and somewhat realistically dangerous game world.

Next dumb question :) I don’t understand the difference between freighters and industrial ships. They both seem to carry a lot of cargo. Can someone explain it please? Thanks.

The amount of cargo they can hold, and freighters can’t pick stuff up out of jet cans.

I got this one:

Freighters are the capital version of industrials: in a week or so anyone can be zipping around in a good industrial ship, which I reccomend, as they carry around 4,000 m3- great for moving items to a trading hub or just from mission hub to mission hub(also the ships are very cheap at less than a mil a pop).

Freighters are huge capital ships that can carry massive amounts of cargo[isnt it 600,000 m3?, not in game right now] , while also taking lots of skills to train. Also they cost around a bil each(700million now for an Obelisk)

long story short: Dont even bother going for freighters unless you like hauling stuff. Get industrials because its a nice side skill to have, but its not an imperative skill.

So me, for instance, I have 3 industrial ships hanging around in each of my home bases: one for buying gear from the big hubs, one for hauling odds and ends stuff from my pvp base to my safe base, and one for hauling stuff from my mission base to market. All in all I think it cost me around 3 million to grab 3 of these and the skill, so it shouldnt be a problem for anyone.

A properly fit Masthodon (minmatar industrial tier 3) can carry up to 28000 M3 so they are nice to have.

Thanks! Now I get it. I guess I should have looked harder at the skill plan in EveMON for the Obelisk :)

EFT claims 29243 M3 with Expanded Cargohold II in the low slots and Medium Cargohold Optimization I rigs. Sadly the Mastodon is a tech 2 Transport rather than a mere tech 1 Industrial. It costs as much as a battleship and requires Minmatar Industrial level V + Transport level I to fly. The Transport skill has Industry level V as a prerequisite so that’s quite a few skill points just to move stuff around.

Personally I prefer the Gallente Iteron line of Industrials. If you max out the Gallente Industrial skill, the Iteron Mark V can fit 38433 M3.

A cargo rigged Iteron V (Gallente Industrial) with 5 T2 cargo expanders will carry about 38,500 m3 of stuff. If you fill it with Giant Secure Containers that’s a total haulage capacity of around 50,000m3.

The biggest Freighter (capacity wise) is the Charon (Caldari Freighter). With Caldari Freighter skill at V, it can carry 981,250 m3 of stuff. It can’t carry unpackaged GSCs however, nor can it be fitted with any modules or rigged so that’s a hard limit on the space.

Freighters aren’t technically capital ships, the only thing that they really have in common with capital ships is the requirement for Advanced Spaceship Command. They don’t need the Capital Ship skill and nor do they have jump drives. The T2 version of Freighters (Jump Freighters) do have jump drives but they also carry a lot less - roughly 375,000 m3 for a max skilled pilot.
