Amarr is Punisher -> Maller -> Harbinger -> Abaddon i guess.
Bonus Experience: 100k skillpoints to your highest SP character
PI Note: If you are going to be in update range, you are better off scheduling two 5 hour jobs per day (one in the morning, one in the evening), than a single 23 hour job, even though you’ll have lots of downtime.
Awesome, Dave! Do they explain how to apply this?
Right click in the skill you want and apply it.
I am Gallente, is it OK to use their ships?

You can apply the SPs across several skills as well if you want so if you’ve got a lot of low level skills you can increase them all by a rank or two or just apply the 100k to one longer skill.
It’s worth applying it to skills that you have poor attributes for as that will give you the biggest boost. 100k SPs is about two days training on a skill for which you have decent stats but could be double that or more for stuff that’s off your current attribute map - for example if your Charisma sucks apply the 100k to social, leadership and trade skills as those would normally take you longer.

Sure, I believe the Gallente equivalents are Incursus, Vexor, and Myrmidon.
And then the ugly Dominix, but not sure whats better for missions if the Brutix or Myrmidon.
Are you planning on PVP or Missioning?
your starting race has very little influence over the long(er) term and you are free to train for any ships of any race whenever you want (depending on your existing skills, of course)
I’d say myrm until you get a domi, the brutix eats ammo like there’s no tomorrow :)

Sort of, but not really.
Punisher, yes. Maller… is a good tank but the Omen is far superior DPS, the Arbitrator (drone boat) can mixed a good tank with good DPS. The Harbinger is lovely. The Abaddon is a mare to fit for newbies, especially with its capacitor problems - the Apocalypse is the better mission BS.
By the time you’re up to the Apoc you’ve probably looked towards a HAC or the like anyway :)
I would like to mission for money and pvp when I can join a group. I just don’t want to get into a “raid schedule” type situation.
I had huge problems with the tank of the Omen in some lvl 2 missions, thats why i recommended the Maller for those.
you can (easily) solo missions up to lvl4 (included)
lvl5 kinda require a group
as such, the only “raid schedule” situation you are likely to encounter are 1) related to PvP 2) when part of a large corporation and during a CTA. Think 0.0 capital ships battles etc
Otherwise, you can easily log in, do a few missions/do some small gang pvp and log out
This sounds great. I will start training for the Caldari ship path.
FWIW, broadly speaking, caldari ships are great for PvE (ammo versatility) but pretty poor at PvP. So, unless you plan to play for 6 years or only do PvE (absolute shame), I would not specialise too much in caldari ships
Gallente, with their drones, are a decent compromise between the 2
And I thought I was starting to have a path plotted out! Are you implying that I should switch to a different race ship class after I get a Drake, or instead of?
Drakes are pretty damm good in small BC gangs in low sec.

The standard Gallente drones path for PvP generally goes Incursus - Vexor - Myrmidon - Dominix. That way your core skills stay the same and you don’t have to branch out too early on in your flying career. Once you’re comfortable in that role you can look at diversifying into different weapon systems and roles.
The Brutix will require much higher skills than a Myrmidon to fly effectively as most of its work is done up close - so you’ll need really good tanking skills and be able to fit a lot of speed mods. In general the lower your skills, the further away you want to engage (for PvE at least). Surviving to get to close range let alone holding on at that range is for the brave or the overtanked.
