Thanks for all the comments on destroyers. I guess as disposable alpha-DPS machines, they can’t be beat for the price. 8 high slots, damage bonuses, and dump in cheap dps-boosting low-slot fittings and you recoup most of it from insurance.
I hadn’t thought much about dessies as suicide boats or alpha boats, not having pirated much.
A sensor boosted alpha thraser is very nasty in gate camps, can lock and kill almost any frigate in one shot.

No easy way, two externals sites have most of the info but it’s usually deeply hidden amongst silly trolls and fairly stupid conversations

In general, KBs for the major entities can give you some idea of what is going on (Razr, PL, IT etc)

Overall, have to say things have become fairly stale and the level of genuinely interesting and important “drama” has gone down significantly
Even the recent invasion of the north by IT was more a source of dick-waving and massive trolling than anything truly interesting

In other news, “live” python code injection has now been proven as doable and some exploits based on this are already “in the wild”
in particular “warp to 0 autopilot” seems possible using this method (and other older macros) but more importantly, some sort of “super scanner” showing everythign within 14au
Also, this is not a “hack” by any stretch of the imagination but if you manually modify your saved overview settings, you can now add probes to it! (which, means that you can now scan for probes using the d-scan and still keep your overview settings. You can also create an overview setting with only probes etc. )

started on Scrap (lol, when you know the thing is owned/operated by a CCP employee) with some random guy offering to sell the exploit for $40
further discussion took place, with vids posted, pics etc, theorycrafting taking place which seemed to validate the claim on a “it’s doable” level. Initial thread got nuked (renamed to something with “penis” in the title and locked) but at least one other thread popped up since then.
same guy created a thread on kugu as well (got deleted, mods there probably jealous they had not thought about it/implemented it before)
thread(s) got started on the official forums but obviously were nuked by CCP ASAP, might still have some remains left using eve-search
finally, some info started to surface on one of the popular macro forums
A version of the eve code was made available on torrent sites couple years ago (+/-), finally client is not encrypted or anything and some people claim to have been able to get access to the source of the client reasonably easily
Also, not the 1st time rumours like this one have surfaced, there was a VERY interesting thread on kugu about 1 year ago, somebody had apparently managed to replicate some of the server/client calls (being able to log into channels from a makeshift client, that sort of things).
apparently (disclaimer, I’m not really competent at python or live code injection) it’s not that difficult to do technically and the client is far from being as “dumb” as claimed by CCP and receives more information than thought
It could be a fairly elaborate joke, but the general impression was that this was probably legitimate and technically feasible
