AWU 5 is one of those skills where you just have to suck up the time it takes. It’s a bastard but it’s one of the most useful in the game.
Ok i bought a plex and started training for Amarr Interceptors.
I’m at a point where I have very good skills for my primary ship, and have a variety of ships I can fly in small gangs if I want.
So I’m sucking up a lot of time consuming training (just got BC V, for example, and Drone Interfacing V not long before that) that gives me a nice boost.
Then, I need to get all racial cruisers to V.

I really need to work on ships and T2 large guns. Thankfully I have a remap coming up on September 1st. In the meantime, since I have a high memory stat currently, my drone skills are done.
-Drone Interfacing V
-Heavy Drones V
-Sentry Drones V
-Repair Drone V
-Scout Drone V
-Combat Drone V
-Navigation V
Etc etc etc. The only thing I haven’t taken to 5 are the racial specializations (they’re at 4 for Gallente and Min.) and drone durability. Wooo!
I’ve got IV’s in a bunch of ship skills and gunnery, once I switch my stats it’s time to start cranking out the T2 ships/guns. Do you guys think going PER/WILL for the next year will be better, or WILL/PER? IIRC, the T2 variants all take W/P. I’m at work, otherwise I’d just check Evemon.
I just started Heavy Drone V, which is my first 20 day skill!
:( I still have Drone Interfacing 4/Heavy drones 4: but I do have Battleship 5
my main ship for making the monies is now a ishtar and in pvp I fly a dampy celestis or a blaster+ECM drone thorax.
I just have a hard time doing those two week long, or month long skills(the ones to get Tech 2 sentrys, or tech 2 heavies, or drone interfacing 5!
I keep telling myself that the T2 Ogre will be worth the wait.

T2 drones are, definitely.
yeah- I did the work to get the T2 smalls: I swear they are better than mediums, and they go 2x as fast
Depends on what you are shooting, i always use Hammerheards II on my harbinger when we are in BC roams because i know we are going to fight Cruiser/BC sized ships, but for everything else i always carry light drones.

I never ran the numbers or anything, but as a user experience it always seemed like the T2 drones were as good (if not better), damage wise, as the next size up. By that I mean my Hobgoblin IIs were better than my Hammerhead Is, the Hammerhead IIs beat a T1 ogre (by a long shot, when you factor travel time). Factor in the extra HP, speed, etc that comes with the T2 as well and it’s a clear win.
I’ve had T2 sentries for almost six months, but I just finished T2 heavies. Those things are mean. Kit a Dominix out with a Sentry Damage rig, have a set of T2 gardes (or appropriate racial drone) and an omni-link or two, and you can slice through missions. Gardes do quite nice even against cruisers at close range, as long as you’ve got yourself an omni equipped in a mid.
The heavies come out and play when I use my Navy Issue Armageddon, though, because I like being able to stay mobile with that ship. I’ve set a flight of 5x Ogre IIs on a Sansha BS while I gunned down the other, and they both died at the same time. Granted, I have T1 guns versus T2 drones, but considering it is not a drone boat, I was impressed at how much damage they could do.
The geddon is what you would consider a drone boat for the amarr, not many ships have the ability to carry 5 Heavy/Sentry drones.

Yea, that’s why I love to fly it. I just meant that it doesn’t have any drone bonus (other than the sweet 125mbit bandwidth) like a Dominix or Ishtar does.
For a Pilgrim (or an Arbitrator, if you haven’t got the T2 yet), this is my Drone loadout:
Light Drone I: 5 Hobgoblin IIs
Light Drone II: 5 Warrior IIs
Medium Drone: 5 Hammerhead IIs
ECM: 5 Vespa EC-600
Against very fast ships, you’ll need the Warrior IIs.

My problem in skill planning is that I tend to line up long skills at the beginning of the week, but I like to play around with new stuff on the weekends, which means reloading everything again afterward.
I’m also a lot more excited to play the day I get a new skill. It’s like a game within the game. It’s such a strange mechanic for an MMO as well, taking the advancement of a character outside of the gameplay itself.

Thanks for that. T2 amarr cruiser is probably going to be my first T2 ship (other than my Helios), I’ve really been debating between the Curse and the Pilgrim. Kinda trending towards the Curse since I’d always be amongst friends, but I’d love that cloak on the Pilgrim.
What are your thoughts on the Zealot? I hear the Sacrilege is pretty dismal?
No clue.
I love CovOps, and I often fly solo, which makes the Pilgrim great.
The big weakness of the Pilgrim comes in with multiple opponents. It’s great against one, not so much against others.
I need to pick up a Curse one of these days.
In a month or so, I’m going to train up the Arazu. Damps + 60km Point makes for a great gang asset.
What I really want to do is get an Arazu/Rapier duo up and running, and go hunting plexing Dramiels.
“Hi. You are pointed, webbed, at 0 traverse, and you cannot touch us. Pay us now, or we blow up your expensive toy.”
Just remember to put the point(s) on before the web … some people made the mistake of doing the opposite a few times #coughs#
As a young pilot, that is going for t2 ogres, should I bother with sentry 5 or scout 5?
KevinC

Yes, yes, and more yes on Scout 5. It’s far more important than the T2 ogres are and faster to get at that.
Regarding the ogres, what are you using it for (PVE, PVP?) and what ship do you fly? If you’re doing PVE in a droneboat like a Dominix, sentries are the far better choice over heavies, in my opinion.
