Le samourai?

I don’t know, I’m trying to remember foreign movies in color.

That shot is indeed gorgeous. With the eye drawn to the light filtering through the door curtain, and the various hues in the foreground. Everything is at once in focus, but placed to frame that shot. The 60s art is intriguing as well, like the director wanted to tell a small story with those selections.

Warning-The 80:80 contains mild, tasteful, artistic, topless nudity and may be considered NSFW. Please use discretion before clicking on “Summary” below.

That’s a Peter Blake print in the 60:60.

Is that Performance?

Senor Jorge Luis Borges, Nicolas Roeg is calling on the Phone of Forking Conversations!

Pleased to Meet…Me?

The 100:100 would have sealed the deal, but the topless Anita Pallenberg on the Persian rug in the 80 was a pretty good hint as well.

The Two Centuries (100:100):

You are up, @charmtrap

Sweet, new 20:

I’ve not seen it but gonna go with My Friend Dahmer

It is an ominous looking scene, isn’t it? It sure feels like some sexual hunting is occurring…

Well, that was easy. It is indeed the excellent My Friend Dahmer. (BTW, that scene is not what it may look like…there’s no sexual grooming going on there).

Your go, @abidingdude!

Damn, I missed this series and I had that movie on my list of, “I can’t believe that hasn’t been done yet.”

It was a powerful movie, sad and tense and just … f’d up. It played on me as I watched it, since it was me, the audience, who put different scenes in my head as the movie when along.

Dahmer was, sadly, a product of semi-normalcy. Small things in his life led to a powerful future state.

New 20 (the first two frames are not super helpful unfortunately). Blessed guessing to you all. May the odds be ever in your favor and stuff.

Having subscribed to the Navaronegun School of Reasonably Expedited Frames let me present the 40 before calling it a day.

Grave Encounters?

Not Grave Encounters, cool guess tho

First screen looks like Super 8, second screen less so…

Not Super 8 (if that was indeed a guess). Just wait until the 60 and the 80 which look they come from completely different movies. Is that a clue? It sorta is!

Edit: Oh the anticipation of sweet, sweet guesses is killing me so here’s the 60 👉

Given that last shot, certainly it’s gotta be I’m Not There. The one where multiple actors play Bob Dylan?

Dang you @charmtrap !
You beat me. Yeah that shot is so clearly a homage/match to D. A. Pennebaker it ain’t funny.

Ding ding ding @charmtrap is (yet again) the winnar. I’ll have the rest of the shots up in the morning. They are all so gorgeous and visually distinct.

80 - Urbane cowboy

100 - Dude look like a lady (Is that Cate, not sure)

120 - Pretty, what is pretty?

The reason I posted this particular movie was its inclusion in a recent article in the WaPo:

I would agree that Children of Men is my favorite movie of this young century. Not sure about I’m Not There but I certainly love Todd Haynes’ visual aesthetic. I was originally gonna post Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story but it’s only 44 minutes long and I couldn’t find a decent copy.

All yours, Mr. @charmtrap
