I know the actor is not riding a lama, but it totally looks like they are riding a lama

The Duke of Burgundy?

@anonymgeist I’m afraid that’s not it.

Since you’re doing obscure bad 90s flicks, Prince Valiant?

A long shot, but is it The Last Valley (1971)?

Ator, the Fighting Eagle?

@Navaronegun @MrTibbs @Nightgaunt Nope, sorry.

Following up on that and recognizing some more of the MST3K oeuvre, could it be The Cave Dwellers?

@Djscman That’s a negative.

Here’s the 40:40

Arthur and Merlin

Is it McTiernan’s bomb The 13th Warrior?

@MrTibbs
Yep!

Based on his book Eaters of the Dead, Michael Crichton apparently directed reshoots and finished up what was released after John McTiernan was fired for presumably being very overbudget, among other reasons. It’s not a particularly great movie, especially with regards to the writing and the slapdash nature of the finished movie, but I still enjoy the sense of adventure from The 13th Warrior. I thought it might be particularly fitting at the moment with AC Valhalla being released, as a lot of entertainment that followed was biting off of this film’s fabricated mythology for their own flavors of norse/viking culture.

Hats off @MrTibbs, you’re up next!

Wait what? Is that out now? Crap!

EDIT: Realized it has been out on the Epic store. I sometimes miss the releases on that but will jump on it.

The movie was a mess. But Crichton basically directed it after McTiernan’s cut got really bad test reviews.

@Skipper It’s on uplay too (or connect, whatever dumb new name it has now).

@Woolen_Horde Oh yeah, I do recall reading about that somewhere. I seem to also recall reading somewhere that Crichton and McTiernan did not get along at all, but anything further I’d have to look up.

There was some evidence of his McTiernan’s usual visual flair, but it was very muddled. I’ve read conflicting reports regarding studio interference and considerable cost overruns but whatever the case it’s a shame the final product wasn’t very cohesive.

Apropos of nothing, here’s a new 20:20

I know that one, but I won’t be able to provide a new frame, so I’ll have to pass. :(

Carlito’s way? Surprinsigly, it hasn’t been done yet.

I think you’re right given Tibbsy’s uncritical worship of De Palma and Duncaccino, but Imma guess The Shadow for Ms. Miller here.

l’m actually not so sure. l have watched Carlito’s Way several times, and don’t remember the scene nor the dress.

l just googled Duncacciino to get the reference. Some things cannot be unseen…
