I never even heard of it before, but definitely recognized very young Ralph.

It’s an excellent watch. Redford’s direction is stupendous for the movie and the acting was amazing too.

Mid 90s Redford, about the notorious 50s quiz show scandals (they were rigged!) Americans discovered that their beloved new medium wasn’t trustworthy!

It’s notable as Ralph Fienne’s first major role after blowing up in Schindler’s List. He definitely wants to get Amon Goeth behind him.

Well that’s John Wayne…hardly mistakable for Randolph Scott!

It’s probably She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. It could be one of the other Ford-Wayne cavalry pictures, but that’s my guess.

I think charmtrap’s got it right. The scene where Wayne accepts a retirement gift from his troops and struggles with his glasses is really wonderful.

The second of Ford’s Cavalry Trilogy.

“The army is always the same. The sun and the moon change, but the army knows no seasons.”

Roma?

Good guess.

No.

Tetro?

Not Tetro.

(Which reminds me I’ve been meaning to see that.)

Francis Ha?

That is the French Canadian actress Evelyn Brochu, best known for Orphan Black. But she also starred in an early film by a French Canadian filmmaker by the name of Denis Villeneuve.

Polytechnique.

You can watch it on Prime.

Indeed it is.

Sort of thematically similar to Elephant, based on a massacre of 14 women that took place at a university in Montreal in the 80s by a virulent misogynist. This is a tough watch at times, obviously. It’s can be pretty gruesome, but I found it intermittently very powerful.

(the film is a little too short for an 80, but here’s the last shot)

Your go, @Woolen_Horde!
