Beresford delivers a sublime, lonely exploration of religion, belief, alien cultures interacting and the terrifying beauty of an untouched dangerous nature. Largely overlooked and underappreciated due to its unique production (Aussie/Canadian) and unknown (though excellent) cast. And a magnificent score by Georges Delerue rounds things off.

The movie, from what I remember, was gorgeous. I should re-watch it though because I don’t remember the details at all, mostly.
A new 20 a bit later this morning so I can ensure everyone is up. Like the last one, this one might go fast.

Oops, nearly forgot, my apologies.

That is All the Money in the World

You and I, Mr. Horde, are on the same wavelength.
It is, All The Money In The World. “To be a Getty is an extraordinary thing. My grandfather wasn’t just the richest man in the world, he was the richest man in the history of the world. We look like you, but we’re not like you. It’s like we’re from another planet where the force of gravity is so strong it bends the light. It bends people too.”
My girlfriend and I enjoyed this movie, for the story and more so, the back story of the movie itself. Based on the true story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III in Italy, the true story is about the mother of the son attempting to get his powerful and rich Grandfather to help with the ransom money, and the family struggle that ensued.
But that isn’t the real story. The real story is that said grandpa was played by and filmed with Kevin Spacey as that lead. Then the #metoo allegations broke and nobody, rightfully, wanted to touch anything with Kevin Spacey. So in only eight days, they reshot every scene of the movie with him casting the very well respected Christopher Plummer, and man we are treated with SUCH an excellent performance by the latter that I’m awestruck as his ability to do that so easily in so little time.

Ford v Ferrari I believe. Just watched that recently, I liked it!
You’re right I think; the actress plays Bale’s character’s wife. As I told @tomchick a few weeks ago, I saw it two months ago and was already forgetting it. It was fine.
Yes, FvF. Also the last 20th Century Fox movie to earn Academy Awards. RIP, 20th Century.
Poor Caitriona Balfe. As in the norms in these biopics, they cast a talented (and beautiful) actress to play the wife, which is a thankless role with little meat to it. On top of that, they gave her with an unflattering hairstyle.

Loved this movie and what I love more here is out of seven shots from it, every single one could have been a prepared and placed photo. The whole movie was brilliantly shot and directed.
I honestly really liked what they did with her role. Yes, it’s a smaller part thane the Damon/Bale show, but a worse movie would’ve made her a nag and an obstacle instead of a genuine partner.
I liked her role too. I especially liked the scenes where she scared the shit out of her husband by driving the family car too fast and where she breaks out the lawn chair to watch the two idiot males fight.
I really enjoyed her in the role and agree the movie would’ve been worse off without her.
List doesn’t show this 20:20 so I hope I’m not repeating! And yes, before any ask: this movie is in Full Frame aspect ratio.
Pirates of Silicon Valley
Yep!
Sure, it’s a tv-movie and looks it, but I don’t hold that against Pirates of Silicon Valley, and actually quite enjoyed it. And as far as I’m concerned, Joey Slotnicks career reached its zenith that year, when he both worshipped Christopher Walken’s elevator and pretended to be Steve Wozniak.

Ah, too slow. I absolutely love that movie. Wyle’s is the best Steve Jobs portrayal even after all the prestigious post-death biopics came out. What an unpleasant group of people.
This Twenty just doesn’t care.

Wow, no Office Space yet?
It’s not that this 20:20 is lazy…

Possibly the most culturally significant edgy American comedy made in the last 25 years. Also funny as s***.

“Michael, we don’t have a lot of time on this earth! We weren’t meant to spend it this way. Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day, filling out useless forms and listening to eight different bosses drone on about about mission statements.”
“I told those fudge-packers I liked Michael Bolton’s music.”
“Oh. That is not right, @dwinn.”
