It’s Netflix’s Wasp Network from director Olivier Assayas (Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper). Set in Cuba and Florida it’s about anti-Castro Cubans and pro-Castro Cubans infiltrating each other, and it’s a little hard to follow, and a bit messy, but I still had a pretty good time with it. The cast is strong with Armas, Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz, and Gael Garcia Bernal. A soft recommendation.
Ah, Netflix! It even has Wagner Moura. Nice. Put it in my “watch later” list. Thanks!
Ooo, Happily looks interesting. Definitely gonna see that.

Yep yep, it’s Colossal!
I’m not going to spell out the metaphor here, but it’s one of the wackest high-concepts for a movie that completely worked for me. It helps, I suppose, that Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis are utterly likable in pretty much everything they do, but man, this just should’ve been a total mess. The fact that it somehow isn’t is a tribute to the good writing and good performances all around on display here. I really liked it.

It is your go, @crispywebb!
Niiice!
I agree with everything except the part about Jason Sudeikis: I find him very unlikable in just about everything. Maybe Ted Lasso will change my mind, but for now he’s the weakest part of Colossal for me. I definitely think it’s one of the best movies about the thing that it’s about. It seems to be a divisive movie. Maybe because it’s more Rachel Getting Married than Godzilla.
Yessir. That is Snoop and Moondog himself.

@anonymgeist, leisurely drive it like you stole it!

Sorry for the delay! I’ll have a new frame up later today.
Going by that face the rest of screenshots are gonna have to be blurred.
That is the immortal classic Men at Work, I believe.
Indeed it is! I hadn’t previewed the frames beforehand, but seeing them now, there’s no way this would’ve gone much further.

I think I would have gotten it from the 80!

Oh, it’s a crowd-pleaser, for sure. Keith David is the best part of the movie, though.

Ha ha, you saw She Dies Tomorrow.
