I hope he’s already seen She Dies if he’s posting frames today.
Heh, good one…
Yeah, this was a real miss for me. It’s an interesting idea (a communicable anxiety/dread/ennui disease) and the craft involved in making this film is evident. There are some memorable and eerie shots in this movie.
Unfortunately, the characters are so underwritten that I had a hard time caring about any of these people or their various fates. This is sub-textual dread and it’s pretty good at that stuff. It desperately needed a little more text.
Still love you, Amy!

Your turn, @tomchick!
Kate Lyn Sheil just killed it for me. She’s so bad. I vividly remember her in a godawful Christine Chubbick mockumentary called Kate Plays Christine. So overwrought and downright embarrassing (it didn’t help that Rebecca Hall is in an amazing Christine Chubbick movie called Christine that came out at the same time).
That would also be my review of She Dies Tomorrow.
Let me go rustle up a few frames…

I don’t know, but I hope he is holding those phones that awkward because he is left-handed.
It is indeed Beckett! One of those movies that has a character’s name as the title, so there’s no way to know what it’s about or even what genre it’s in. Is it horror, a romantic comedy, a buddy movie, a biopic about the playwright? Who knows?
Well, I do, because I watched it! Becket is a thriller that just went up on Netflix. It’s set in Greece, which is a major selling point. Just check out the 60:60:
It’s got a whole lot of John David Washington, which could be a problem if you’re like me and you don’t think he’s a very good actor. But I didn’t mind so much, because it’s a movie about the poor guy being in over his head and having no idea what’s going on. Such as in the 80:80.
He also gets taken for quite the rough ride, as you can infer from the 100:100.
But I really liked it. It’s got a weird pace, but a solid sense of location and when it picks up, it knows how to keep its momentum going. Heartily recommended if you want to see a well-shot and oddly paced thriller with some great bursts of action.
Give the poor guy a break! His other arm is messed up and he’s been through a lot! If you want to see a protagonist take a beating, this is the movie for you.
Over to @anonymgeist!

I haven’t seen it yet, but I recognized JDW. As someone who does quite like him, I think you (and these frames) have sold me on watching it!

Yeah my first thought on the 20:20 was that it was Blackkklansman, but no go without the fro.
That’s gotta be Death Ship, which I haven’t thought about in decades. One of the more memorable movie posters/VHS covers:

Here’s a not-very-good modern take on the concept:
Did you rewatch Death Ship? Is there anything to recommend it these days?
-Tom
It is Death Ship!
Yes I did! And nooooooo it surely does not! It’s wretched. As bad as Blood Vessel was, it’s miles beyond Death Ship.
(I’ll edit in the remaining frames this evening)

Welp, I guess you deserve a hard-earned “Ha ha, you watched Death Ship!” I wonder if anything with George Kennedy in it holds up.

I recall seeing Death Ship at way too young an age and being freaked out by both the candies and the shower scene.
Well, pretty much any Zucker brothers movies. Also Modern Romance with Albert Brooks. But I’m thinking of more traditional George Kennedy movies. Surely there are some that aren’t stinkers?
-Tom
Uhh… The Dirty Dozen isn’t bad. And people like Cool Hand Luke, right? Beyond that, I got nothin’.
