Ah, yes, there you go! I knew there had to be at least one. He’s great in that. My brain was stuck on disaster movies.

what about “Charade”? Still a classic!
(can I throw a shout-out to Dirty Dingus McGee?)

There’s a movie about a haunted boat and it’s called “Blood Vessel”? That’s a pretty inspired title.

I feel like for boating movie titles, Deal Calm was pretty great. A movie on a sailboat where a couple invites a killer on board, etc, with a great sailing reference.
Has Tom done a 3x3 on boat films?
Jaws takes all three spots.
-Tom
Dead Calm is fantastic. I first saw it back at like 12 on network TV over a crappy little B&W 13" set, and it really stuck with me. Rewatched it just a few weeks back and it totally holds up.
Jaws was pretty dang good, but it’s no Captain Ron.
Or any movie with Kurt Russell!
Honestly, my three favorite boat films would be Captain Ron, Dead Calm, and All is Lost.

I wonder how many total boats that Jaws the shark eats through the whole series.
Hmm, I can probably answer this, but I’d have to look up how many of those dinky little sailboats got eaten in Jaws 2. Let’s say five. So that’s two boats in Jaws, five boats (and a helicopter) in Jaws 2, no boats (?) but a whole underwater base in Jaws 3, and no one can say for Jaws 4, because I don’t think anyone has ever actually seen that movie. But I’m guessing the tally in Jaws 4 is boats 1, shark 0 (the boat is actually used to kill the shark).
-Tom
For the record, I saw Jaws 4 many, many times before I ever saw the original. It was a staple of premium cable movie channels in the early 90s. Same with Superman IV, too.
Man, talk about doing it wrong. That would be like someone seeing the Star Wars prequels before ever seeing Star Wars. Imagine the damage that could do to an entire generation!
-Tom
In what movie will you see this at the 20:20?
-Tom
Did Jaws the Shark eat the 2020 as well?
Oops. Math. Fixed! I still stand by my boat math, though!
-Tom
The Orca has an infinite number of circumferences.
I want that on my tombstone.

Tom, re: Jaws the shark — I both admire and am saddened by your refusal to… take the bait here
