The 40:40.

Kwaidan? or however that is spelt?

Kwaidan indeed!

The remaining frames, each one a painting.

Over to you, @ArtVandelay!

I’ve never heard of that, but those frames are outstanding. Really gorgeous.

The whole movie is gorgeous, and those frames don’t even show its most iconic image.

Here’s the 20:20 from another good looking movie:

The Fog!

It is The Fog! Maybe an easy one, but such a good looking (and good sounding, I can hear most of these frames when I look at them) film that I had to do it. Also a thank you to @newbrof whose recent John Carpenter thread made me watch it, this is now one of my favorite Carpenter movies.

The new 20:20!

Is that shadow of the vampire?

Not Shadow of the Vampire.

I think that might be Beyond The Clouds. The actress looks Italian-y.

It is not! Your second frame!

The 40:40.

Is it Ripley’s Game?

It is! This one came out a few years after Matt Damon’s The Talented Mr. Ripley and portrayed an older, more successful, and extremely methodical Tom Ripley, who had grown into himself and come to accept his own psychopathic tendencies. Never the less, after being insulted at a party, he forges a strange kind of friendship with his terminally-ill next victim, ultimately causing them to join forces together against a common foe. I didn’t like it when it came out, because as a young backpacker I preferred Damon’s more sympathetic Ripley, but as I get older, Malkovich’s reptilian performance as a more settled-into-himself Ripley makes it my favorite of the Ripleyiad.

The 80:80.

The 100:100, featuring a young Lena Headey.

Cool. Here’s the next item up for bids:

The 20:20

The Presidio?

No, not The Presidio.

The Interview?
