Yup, a pre-Depp Amber Heard and Karl Urban in And Soon the Darkness. It belongs to that genre of movies that I believe were made specifically to scare young American women from travelling alone overseas. Taken also belongs in that genre.

What’s the movie where Kate Winslet plays, like, a royal gardiner for some poofy French king’s palace, except the twist is that she’s a chick? I’m guessing it’s that movie!

The answer was Silk, the 2007 movie about a French silkworm smuggler who goes to Japan and screws everything up. Beautiful movie, except it’s totally weighed down by the fact that Michael Pitt cannot act.
