The bad Japanese hip hop musical
Ah yes, I completely agree. That was a painful experience for me too.
By the way, I already asked before, but what about this Qt3 Movie Club? Does it still exist?
I stepped back from it due to lack of participation, basically. Both in terms of the work needed to make it happen and forum-wide participation.

It was neat, and got me to watch a few films I otherwise wouldn’t have.
But my situation at the time (lack of access to TV/ dvd player, living in two places while planning cross country move) meant I couldn’t participate as much as I wanted.
My biggest problem with things like movie and book clubs is that I already have a list of things I’m really excited to watch and read as long as my arm. Adding stuff other people are excited about, and on a deadline, unfortunately feels a little too much like homework.
I wish I could have participated and really appreciate the effort, but having a toddler has cut down my movie time to pretty much zero. I hope to catch up on all the interesting films and accompanying write ups being posted here in a decade or so.
Oh, thanks. And everyone, no worries (it’s why I didn’t answer when asked before). It happens! It was just a lotta work for, you know, 5 voters. Maybe 6 on a good month. :)
The Sixty:
And Final Frame. If no one guesses this one by Tomorrow AM, I’ll meekly take my loss.
I know the movie, but after having cheated, so that doesn’t count (I asked a friend from the movie’s country, and the description of the images was enough for him to tell me the title). I had never heard of this movie before.
New thread for the New Year started here:
Bad Santa. Whereas most director’s cut are all about cramming more shit in, Bad Santa was all about trimming the fat. So many meandering, DOA scenes cut. All of the terrible voiceover narration removed so the scenes themselves can wordlessly, effectively convey everything.
It really is the difference between the Bladerunner theatrical cut and the workprint (or the godawful “Deckard is a replicant” change of the director’s cut).
