20:20

Bah, woulda gotten that! Sexy Horst Bucholz

What Keeps You Alive?

Did you end up purchasing this just to watch it like we did?

Netflix DVD.

Yes, What Keeps You Alive. One of the IFC Midnight horror flicks. Things I’ve learned: the woman in the 20:20 is Becca from Superbad! And the lead is Popclaw from The Boys!

The 40:40 are bloody, but not gory. If there’s an issue, I’ll blur them out.

40:40

60:60

80:80 If the previous were enough trauma for you, just be like Bob Ross and and think happy trees

Damnit. That would have been a way better option. My GF likes survival horror, among a few other horror types. She liked the premise so we waffled on it for a while before just buying it to watch it. I’m not sure if anyone else here does that, but I think we both reason over things like this that it’s still cheaper than a night out at the movies. More commonly we do streaming rentals.

At any rate, not top tier but not bad. It had some thrills. I liked the execution but found the premise a little wonky.

I’ll get a new 20 up shortly.

A new 20 appears:

Major Dundee?

No on Major Dundee.

That looks like Burt Lancaster and that might be Lee Marvin in the Smokey Bear hat.

The Professionals?

I think you nailed it. I confused Lancaster with Coburn (and forgot Coburn had one arm in Dundee).

KAPOW! A hit!

Let’s be honest here, I love this movie not for the western heist plot. And not for the great actors in it. I love it because (as previously mentioned) I think Claudia Cardinale is smoking hot. Regardless though, this movie has great stars, good one-liners between the mains, good action, a shaky but passable plot, and as mentioned, a leading lady who is easy on the eyes. It’s worth a watch if you’re a Western movie fan, and worth a watch just to see some stars in their prime, if nothing else.

The 40, some reconnoitering going on:

The 60, if you’re going to pretend to shoot in Mexico, ponchos are a good way to add flair:

the 80, a short glimpse of our starlet:

The 100, this is no time for push-ups:

Awesome shot, with gigantic credits annoyingly overlaid:

Bonus action shot:

“The cemetery of nameless men. We buried some fine friends there.”

“That’s an awful long way to ride in your bare bottom.”

I wouldn’t be doggone, I’d be long gone, @Jason_Levine, because it’s now YOUR turn.

I forgot Woody Strode was in it! He’s fantastic!

I love it for the reasons you mentioned and it has Lee Marvin delivering one of the great closing lines in cinema history:

Ralph Belamy as J.W. Grant: “You bastard!”
Lee Marvn as Fardan: “Yes, Sir. In my case an accident of birth. But you, Sir, you’re a self-made man.”

I’m dealing with retirement planning this evening (what fun!), so I’ll get frames up sometime tomorrow.

Staying grandpa with your new 20:

Inherit the Wind?

A great adaptation of Jerome Lawrence’s play about the Scopes Monkey Trial. I particularly like Gene Kelly’s decidedly non-musical turn as the cynical newspaper reporter based on H.L. Mencken.

“The man who has everything figured out is probably a fool."

Over to you, Aegean Firepower!

Bald Cap + Suspenders = WJ Bryan. A Little Dick York and Harry Morgan hiding in the background of those.

This Twenty started a genre:

The crickets are deafening.

The Forty:

Maybe Coma ?
