But of course! I didn’t figure it would last long. I just thought it was funny that the first frame was a close-up of the serial numbers that are part of the puzzle. The 60:60 is cute little Nicole de Boer and another shot of the guy who will arbitrarily turn into a psycho partway through the movie:
Here’s the 80:80. More de Boer is always good.
Cube has its issues, mainly in terms of the human interaction in the script, but you can do far far worse in the “X number of people trapped in a room and they don’t know how they got there or what’s even going on”. I mainly picked Cube because one of the actresses, Nicki Guadagni, is a lot of fun in a cool recent horror movie called Ready or Not. You can see her in the 40:40. You won’t forget her if you see Ready or Not.

I only knew Witch Mountain because my nieces and nephews were watching it last week. Talk about timing! Ah, the halcyon days when The Rock was still trying to become an up-and-coming movie star.

I remember watching this in college in a living room double feature that also included Tremors 2 (or 3?) One of the worst movie nights of my life. I felt like Cube was a movie that everyone who saw it only talked up because they had to justify the time they’d spent watching it. In fact, it was pretty damn awful and forgettable…
…And I’m only bitter because I finally watched Primer last night.
