I heard Biden talking on the radio, about how he could handle Trump, just like he handled the bullies when he was a kid… But as i was thinking about it, i think that the reality is that hidden himself is basically a bully.
I think back to when that reporter asked him about his academic history, and he just started beating the guy and lying about stuff.
I think Biden is very similar to Trump. Clearly, he’s orders of magnitude better, but i think he’s probably the worst option available other than Trump himself.
Hey has anyone figured out whether Timex wants Democrats to be elected?

Umm, not seeing how wanting any Democrat other than Biden to be nominated somehow makes someone not a Democrat. In fact quite the contrary, Biden seems to be the rightmost Democrat, so not wanting Biden means Timex is probably left of Biden (or maybe he just thinks Biden is incompetent).

Timex isn’t a Democrat. It’s just that his Republicans don’t exist anymore.

I technically am a Democrat, and I’ve said multiple times that I’ll vote for literally anyone the Democrats put up. I’m not sure what kind of purity test I’m failing here, but I’m led to believe it’s a dumb one.
It’s mainly that i think he’s old and incompetent, and shares negative personality traits with Trump.
I’ll still vote for him over Trump, without hesitation. But he’s probably the worst candidate the Democrats have… It’s a close call with Sanders.

What if love wins elections like it did the battle of Stalingrad?

By killing tons of Nazis?
I’d be cool with that.
I’m still independent. From a policy perspective Biden is closer to my beliefs than anybody but John Delaney. But I think policy is one of the least important attributes of a presidential candidate. Still he is near the bottom of my list, above Sanders and a few of the 3rd tier folks but behind most everyone else.
Biden is old, not too bright, often talks before he thinks, and lives in the Washington bubble

Yeah, I am notably to the left of you politically, and I agree fully with that assessment of Biden.
Totally agree.
But he or his handlers are smart enough to understand that for a lot of Dems, the connection to Obama counts for a ton. Which is why practically every answer he gives refers to those eight years, despite the fact that VP is not a real job.
Also, keep in mind the relative toxicity levels among those four negative qualities.
“Not too bright” is very possibly a net positive among voters.
“Often talks before he thinks” can be a positive nowadays, in that it strikes a lot of voters as authenticity
“Lives in the Washington bubble” is very negative, but can be re-spun as experienced, knowing the ropes
“Old” as in “Let’s roll the dice on whether this guy’s mind holds into his 80s” is an unmitigated deal breaker unrelated to ideology (even among the elderly if not framed as a generational war)
But the age issue has to be pushed by ordinary people like us. Can’t wait for Sanders or Warren to raise it, for obvious reasons.
It is the perfect issue for us right now, in that it is totally true, ought to be minimally divisive towards other Dem factions (they might want an old candidate, but we are not attacking them or their issues), and, by implication, it attacks Dump, such that even if Biden is nominated, the criticism does not hurt him vis a vis Dump.
I have to agree that saying no one should judge you on the things you did before you were 66 is, well, unexpected.
Seems like the kind of thing that if you’re at all worked up about, is a good sign that you’re spending a little too much time within an echo chamber.

Because you shouldn’t worry about electing someone who acts like a bully, or because Biden doesn’t act like one?
That moment when you realize maybe it wasn’t a good idea to praise your past cooperation with segregationists, and stop digging.
Also I think the perception that he’s not “PC” probably helps with a certain slice of voters. Such that even the “keep the boys away from your sister” stuff is not only not a liability, but perhaps reassuring. Just a gut feeling guess, not backed by any data I’ve seen.
I think Biden is pretty terrible at campaigning. The evidence certainly suggests it. And I think a lot of his statements reinforce to me why he’s one of my least-preferred candidates.
But it is also true that a lot of the upset regarding Biden on the left side of the political spectrum involves stuff that really doesn’t seem to move the needle outside that group. It’s people like me who already don’t like Biden telling one another how much they don’t like Biden, and here’s another reason why.
Which is fine…but something like that probably makes little impact with people who are leaning Grampy Joe’s way.
