Not wrong, but that’s a low bar, don’t you think?

Yep. But it’s still really, really important. “At least I’m not dead” is also a low bar, right? :)
Sure. I want someone else. Specifically, Warren, but even Harris or Beto or Pete would be better than Biden. But if I’m stuck with Biden, then he’s my guy.
I love that Pete is Pete. It’s always a first name with him.
Today in “Oh, Joe”
Joe Biden stops short of calling Trump a white supremacist: ‘You just want me to say the words so I sound like everybody else’
"I’m not everybody else – I’m Joe Biden. I’ve always been who I am. I’m staying the way I am. "
He continued: “It’s like everybody wants everybody to call someone a liar. When you say, ‘I don’t call people liars, I say they don’t tell the truth,’ you want to hear me say liar so you can put it out and say, ‘Biden called someone a liar.’ That’s not who I am. You’ve got the wrong guy.”
That’s what America needs in 2020: someone who is proudly, defiantly wishy-washy!

You could also interpret that as someone tired of the press fishing for specific quotes. It’s useless journalism, focused on heightening conflict as opposed to simply reporting facts. If they press wants to report Trump is a racist, they don’t need to launder that idea through someone else’s mouth. Just report the facts.
Biden is being careful because he wants to win some Trump voters back. He’s following the strategy he thinks will win. He may be wrong, but this is a political calculation, not a failure or moral courage.
He’s not actually being that careful, since instead he just got the press to put out a headline saying that he refuses to call Trump a white supremacist. He had a choice of headlines; this was his pick.
“Is Trump a white supremacist?” is neither a hard question nor an unfair one, and everyone knows that. Sure, maybe the press is asking the question for selfish, discreditable reasons, but it’s not a hard question.
Biden is trying to take the easy way out when there isn’t one, and the fact that he’s fooling himself into thinking there is says something quite important about him. And what is says is:
During Dem primary season, his priority is pandering to the concerns of Trump voters. Isn’t this the time where he’s supposed to be trying to get my vote instead? 'Cause this mealy-mouthed wishy-washyness is undoing all the good he did with his speech yesterday (and it was a good speech.)

There is a reason Biden has been in primaries since the beginning of time and has never got the nomination.

Also, Biden’s opening salvo which he launched his campaign on , was Charlottesville.
I feel pretty confident Biden will go after white supremacist terrorism with the same zeal Obama did.
Ive been calling out Tulsi fans and I tell you what, I’ve never come across a bunch of such dodgy shills, sockpuppets and agent provocateurs before.
One guys first reaction to my post was to boast about how i will be deported when they come to power. You can’t even deport citizens, these are hardcore anti-immigrants. What type of Democrat even opens a conversation with threats of deportation? That’s not normal speak anywhere short of the far right.
There’s a whole bunch of people spamming likes on a “I will vote for Trump than Biden” thread and this involves people defending Trumps concentration camps and mass killers using the same alt right arguments about devaluing “real” concentration camps and everyone is a Nazi these days so it doesn’t matter being called one. Oh and “Obama did the camps first” and endless threads attacking Obama and Democrat Party. People posting links to Assadist anti-imperialists from the Duginist networks, Blumenthal, Beeley and other dodgy types, people who have spent decades burning US flags and allying with Death To America states and organisations. Not just defenders of Assad but people actively working with his ministries. Also lots of accounts with not quite right English grammar and syntax.
Gabbard has some seriously, seriously dodgy people boosting her online. It’s like someone wanted to concentrate a bunch of people who make Democrats look bad in one place.
It’s just like that. Hmm.
I wasn’t sure whether to post this here or in the Give Away thread, but I have a few “Warren” bumper stickers to give away. PM me your address if you’d like me to mail you one.
Not yet. I’m holding out hope for Pete. As soon as he concedes, I’ll probably go with Warren.
Has he ticked up to 1% with black people yet?
Really sounds like fake crap from anti-Dems, whether domestic or foreign. Lots of “likes” for a bandwagon against Biden. Making it sound like Dems are pro-deportations.
We are going to see a whole lot of this, and I am concerned that it may turn out to be effective. Especially if they are sophisticated enough to mix obvious fakery with subtle fakery.

There’s a lot of anti-Biden sentiment, but most of them seem to be very begrudgingly saying they’ll hold their nose and vote for him among the folks I’m talking to other places. Some didn’t vote for Hillary in 2016, either due to age or busting.
I appreciate Schilling’s love of wargames and computer games, but he’s very much a dumbshit as a political thinker. Always has been.

Given his business track record, he seems to be a prime specimen for the GOP Presidential nomination a few years down the line.
