Not sure what you mean here, but coronary stenting is a procedure not an outcome. It might be placed because the patient is at risk of a heart attack, or it might be placed because the patient already has a heart attack.
I hope he’s ok. We still need Bernie lighting a fire under the Democratic party.
Yeah, no need for the unnecessary forumsplaining. Meant exactly what I said there, based upon having had my father, stepfather, and two older brothers experience a variety of outcomes based on chest pains related to arterial blockage, and likely staring down my own before too much longer. And so:
- If you are 78 years old, and
- If you have an arterial blockage near the heart such that it causes chest pains (or is otherwise symptomatic), then
- Two stents and rest is the probably the best possible outcome, where other outcomes may involve multiple bypass surgery or assuming ambient temperature.
Sounds like they just want the ads to coordinate with some ground strategy for when Bernie can get back out there.
Luckily I’m working from home today, because my involuntary guffaw would have drawn some surprise at the office.

I think Bernie Sanders would rather die on the campaign trail than quit. He’ll be back as soon as he can.

The primary concern with Bernie is his age and long-term health. This is a big deal politically for his campaign. I certainly hope he’s ok, and he’s super tenacious, but I’d be willing to bet his poll numbers dip. If he dropped out and threw his support behind Warren, Biden might be toast.

Yeah. Remember back in the 2016 campaign where Hillary was sick and feinted and how they were blowing that up. And Hillary didn’t have as many age/health concerns going into it.
When a lot of people are already questioning if someone is too old (I’m one of them), abruptly having surgery to deal with an arterial blockage is not a good sign.

I don’t think a Democrat would use this directly, but since Trump didn’t hold back about Clinton, I’m sure HE would use it against Bernie. More likely, voters would use it as part of their decision depending on how much they know about it.
She faked left and then moved right!
Awesome autocorrect or whatever for fainted!

Haha! It was autocorrect, I think. I am in need of more coffee, though, so I can’t say for certain. :)
Glad they’re not going to split it into two nights.
I’m very much for Sanders, but yeah, the health stuff is real.
I’m also very much for Warren, because I’m not a fucking moron whose mission in life is to make the perfect the enemy of the good, so as long as Biden doesn’t get anointed by enemies of the people I should be reasonably happy.

There is a lot of “talk” about Biden’s failing campaign which I think is just propaganda from the right. He’s still in no.1 position. Even if he drops to 2, that’s hardly failing.
Voice-of-the-DC-establishment Politico is now pleading with the GOP to throw Trump to the wolves if they want to have any chance of winning in 2020.
Though to avoid engendering panic in their target audience, they’ve phrased it more along the lines of, “If you throw Trump to the wolves, our evenhanded counterfactual political analysis reveals that Pence will sweep to victory, Joe Biden will melt, wild-eyed radicals like Sanders and Warren will be thwarted forever, and you’ll all be 20 years younger and much better looking.”
Of course this omits things like Biden being a much better return-to-normalcy candidate than Pence, or the fact that Sanders/Warren economic policies gained traction with voters before Trump was elected, not because of Trump. But when you’re trying to talk your family members out of the cult, you gloss over the details.
Politico is the most enlightened centrist of them all.
Set your expectations accordingly.
Just kidding - always assume Trump is gonna win.

Not hard to imagine why he’d be down to a “generic” Dem. Hillary was a known quantity and very unpopular herself. Right now Generic Democrat embodies everything people want out of a candidate and none of what they don’t. When that changes to Biden or Warren or Sanders the numbers will change accordingly.
Trump & co. all believe Biden would be their worst possible opponent, hence their obsession with him. They think Warren will be a pushover.
I think he picked on Jeb because Jeb was weak and vulnerable.
He may have chosen Biden for the same reason. Biden was open to attack.
