That doesn’t sound like the best possible outcome!
Released from the hospital 3 days after suffering a myocardial infarction?
That’s about as good an outcome as you get.

Yep… a couple of stents and “follow up with your PCP” is a pretty good outcome for a heart attack.

Right, but if I’m admitted to the hospital with chest pain then I’m going to rank a lot of things as better news than being diagnosed with a heart attack. For example, unstable angina.
…if you’re a 78-year-old man who has had a heart attack. Maybe that’s the part to consider?
You’re clearly alluding to something I corrected you on up thread.
And you’re misquoting me rather noticeably. That isn’t at all what I said.
Here’s what I did say:
Notice the both the symptoms and causality I mentioned, that you seem to have missed. Not just chest pain.
Thanks.

Oh no. I don’t like Bernie as a candidate for 2020 but I’ve always admired him as a politician who was never afraid to state his position. I appreciate everything he’s done to push the Democrats to a more progressive platform.
I think this probably means the end of his campaign (even if not officially) and from a cold political point of view I’m glad that support can coalesce around Warren, but I hate to hear he had a heart attack, even if he weathered it well.
I almost wonder if the other campaigns of Democratic candidates tweeting frequently about sending Sanders their best wishes for a speedy recovery didn’t have a bit of an intended/unintended double entendre to them.

Yes, I know.
If you have unstable angina, that means that your chest pain is caused by narrowed/blocked coronary arteries. The pain is your heart muscle warning you that it is not getting enough blood. But it is not dead, yet. Blood flow can be restored by stents (or CABG). This is, in fact, a very common outcome. Roughly half of people who go to the ER with chest pain due to coronary artery disease do not yet have a myocardial infarction. They are merely at risk of a myocardial infarction.
If you are diagnosed with a myocardial infarction, that means it is too late. Some of your heart muscle has died and has been or soon will be replaced by scar tissue. You may still get a stent (or CABG) to prevent more muscle from dying. But since part of your heart muscle is gone, there are additional consequences. The scar tissue could cause an arrhythmia. Your heart may not pump as efficiently as before the MI, so you might start to suffer congestive heart failure. If the scar tissue is near your heart valves, they might start leaking. And so forth. All in all, not the best possible news. Obviously death would have been worse. But still, it would have been nice to catch it a little earlier, when he was merely at risk of a myocardial infarction.

It’s believed a Sanders dropout might help Biden more than Warren.
I can see that on one level…but I also think there might be some collateral damage to Biden in this case, too. If Bernie were to drop out for health reasons, it’s possible that voters would start thinking more about Biden’s age too.

The best evidence that I know of about this is from Morning Consult polling, who ask supporters of each candidate who their second choice is. Among people that pick Sanders first, second choice is:
30% Biden
28% Warren
6% Harris
It’s wrong to just assume that all of Bernie’s people will go to Warren.

Those numbers are a lot closer than the last polling- which I think is a combination of Warren’s momentum, and both the Bernie health issue and Biden being part of the Trump scandal hurting Biden.
Also, Warren’s share of the black vote has increased a good bit- she’s still losing it heavily, but it’s not by the margins Bernie lost it in 2016.
Right now I think it’s fair to call Biden and Warren co-leaders.

First footage of Bernie since the heart attack. Wishing him a full and fast recovery.
Really can’t stand Murphy but “fighting middle class Grandma” made me lol.
I think of her more as “feisty schoolmarm” than “fighting middle class Grandma.”
And I’m talking political personas, not personal fantasies so you sickos can just keep it to yourselves!!
In mine she’s wearing a habit and holding a rifle because nuns with guns is the best fetish ever.
Might have overshared just then.
I always assumed the “guns” part was an anatomical metaphor.

I don’t understand Bernie/Biden voters. What do they care about? Old wrinkly penises?
