As somebody on tweeted pointed out the margin of error in the poll is 4.7% so in reality Biden and Warren could switch place. Buttigeig in the high teens is really the news here, since he is only polling at 8% or so nationally.
I’m sticking with my prediction that there will be big surprise in the first 3 primaries.
I’ll just throw some more “Fuck Biden” into my repertoire. That’s some real dishonest bullshit right there.
If Biden himself says that, it’ll be in Trump ads attacking her in the general. So, thanks for that, asshole.
Sanders like most politicians, is full of himself and believes his own press.
Now, you need to be full of yourself to run for president. All the candidates are. But, it still doesn’t make it a good thing.
That’s why Lincoln is such an odd duck. He was immensely ambitious and probably aware most of the time that he was the smartest person in the room, yet he was capable of preternatural humility too (whether genuine or performative, it’s hard to say).
Vale, Beto.
The field continues to cull itself.
When I read this, this morning from the NYT poll of Iowa, I figured this might happen sooner than later.

Truthfully? It’s how the GOP has taken over the country. They don’t generally campaign on destroying Social Security, but oh look once they’re in power one of the first things they do is try to destroy it.
It’s politics at the end of the day.
Except, you know, Biden is in the those social security destroyers are good people I can make a deal with, so maybe adopting his positions isn’t such a good electoral strategy for actual Democrats.
She’ll get quite the bump from that 0.4% Beto was polling in Iowa.

I forget how he sank again because I do remember being excited about Beto as a choice, once.

Beto was amazing to me, because I did not really follow the previous Texas race that he almost won, but from liberal Twitter and various other media you would have thought he was the second coming. Gregarious, intelligent, eloquent, charismatic.
Then I actually watched him, and he was like wet toast.

She will get a decent chunk of the 18% he was polling in texas though.

Kamala, the bell tolls for thee.
As someone who followed the Texas race, Beto was definitely being graded on a curve. Beto was a great progressive choice, for Texas. Beto was charismatic, when placed next to Ted Cruz. I hope we see more of Beto in Texas, but I also hope we can do better as a nation.
This is the challenge in front of Elizabeth Warren.
‘Wisconsin people want white man’ is, well, expected.

I think this poll shows that most voter’s preferences have little to do with the candidate themselves but their projection of what they think that candidate represents. Biden has arguably been the worst Democratic candidate this cycle w/re to gaffs, debate performance and taking understandable political positions.
