I actually think this is correct, Oklahoma is around Texas culturally more than anywhere else. Economically, in colleges and sports, geographically and otherwise it’s far more “Texas” than it is any other neighboring state. And Texas is sort of Southwest and sort of Southern and mostly it’s own thing - it isn’t particularly like NM or LA or AR.
