Itunes--can I burn songs I purchase to a CD?

An inquiring mind would like to know.

Yes, but I think there’s a limit to how many times you can burn it. 10?

The limitation is burning a particular playlist, not the song. It’s either 5 or 7. I’m not sure. After that, you have to delete the old playlist and make a new one to get another 5-7 copies.

It’s 7:

what I often do is burn the purchased files to disc, which makes them AIFF files, then I bring those in as either MP3s, AIFF files or whatever because there is no restriction with those. Make the playlist and do whatever you want with those unrestricted files.

Of course if you re-encode them as mp3 files, you’re losing some quality. I don’t know off the top of my head if AIFF is lossy or not.

Exactly. Thank god they do their best to avoid JHymn and related products that removed the copyright protection so I could actually use the music I purchased on non-Apple products without a loss of quality.

Thank god wonderful Apple and it’s policies are fighting the greedy Microsofts of the world. Oh wait, they aren’t. They’re all a bunch of greedy bastards.

If by they you mean the RIAA, then yes.

By getting them from Limewire.
