Douglas Coupland’s new book: JPod

Has anyone picked this up? It’s a spiritual sequel to Microserfs and I heard it focuses on a bunch of game developers.

I love Microserfs but the rest of his library not so much, so am curious about this title.

I guess no one’s picked this up yet. It turns out the characters are game devs at EA :0

I saw it in Chapters on Saturday. I picked up Microserfs though as I’ve been looking to grab that for a while and this was the first time I’ve seen it. So far I’m enjoying Microserfs. Jpod sounds interesting as well, I’ll check it out at some point.

Is it written in the same style as Microserfs?

Microserfs features a scene at The Bombshelter, one of the on-campus student pubs at the University of Waterloo where I spent the lion’s share of my university career back in the late 80s/early 90s. He describes it perfectly. Sort of a surreal experience to read about The Bomber, as it was known, captured in fiction for all eternity.

JPod is out already? :(

I’m happy to wait for this to be out in softcover, but I will be reading it.

Microserfs is the book that woke me up to the world of “high tech”.

What will the reading of Jpod bring?

Douglas Coupland :/.

You really are the anti-me, aren’t you?
