You should try flying somewhere. Seems like every airport I take off or land at recently has a slew of those broadcast antenna like things w/a generator next to it. At the Atlanta airport, I think they were even red and white.
So where’s that location map for Panau City, man? :)
I know what you mean, man. Happens to me every time I drive by Mount Mansfield:

The Cluster Bomb Launcher is pretty great. I think that and the Air Propulsion Cannon are my two favorite weapons in the game at this point. If only I could carry them together.

Hm, that looks to be about 5, fully upgraded demo packs. Maybe six if one can’t completely demolish that dish…

Pffft. 10 seconds with heli guns, tops.
5 seconds for me to lose control and die while attempting to strafe it with a fighter jet.
So in my new game I have trouble jumping in and just screwing around. I find myself unable to do anything but obsessively 100% towns and settlements.

Don’t fight it. It is what you were born to.
Does anyone else spend ages just say there in a helicopter blowing up the infinite fighter jets as they try to take off?

No, but ever since I had an encounter in which I grappled a taking off jet by reflex and it took off and then promptly arced into the ground directly over me, I’ve been trying to duplicate that.
So far I’ve sent 15 of them into the trees or the water on the side of the runway, but it’s been difficult to get an overhead arc like that one perfect time. :) Still, the ones that go into the trees are pretty amusing to watch, they don’t seem to blow up right away and kinda wander around in the trees for a bit and then … a distant boom.
Mmm the Air Propulsion gun is quite fun, alas you can’t seem to propel the car you’re riding to super speeds with it, but throwing chasing military vehicles off the edge of the mountain certainly is possible!

Haven’t spent much time with the game, so where do the fighters take off from?
Played it until 2AM yesterday. I did my first faction mission (not bad), the White Tiger mission, some races and created a bunch of chaos. I need to 100% a place before going on. One harbor flummoxed me for a half hour where I resorted to watching a 100% video of the place to see the last generation (and it was in plain sight, yeesh). I quit with the Panau International Airport at 97%. Flommoxed.
I bought the boom boom pack but didn’t order any weapons yet. The tiny magazine capacities have scared me off as I’m still early and poor in the game. Sure look fun, though.

Any military airport. The ones with more runways will most likely have more planes.
Do the planes stop taking off from some airports after you 100% them? There’s one particular military airport that was spitting out fighter jets every few minutes… until I hit 100%, and suddenly it all stopped. Yet there was another airport where civilian planes kept launching after 100% (they were still marked as red in the reticle). I suppose that makes sense in terms of having taken over, but hell - I rather like those jets taking off! (grapple fodder)

It certainly seems that way; I’ve noticed this as well. It is in fact a bit of a bummer.
Some of them have a plane sitting on the runway by default, that will stick around. But yeah, the constant plane traffic goes away. I’d leave them unfinished but … can’t do it. OCD won’t let me. :/
Taking an ill-advised 90-minute stint tonight I started out doing a faction mission which involved blowing up a fuel silo I’d already blown up on my own, so that was quick and fun. Love grappling those dudes and chucking them down ten stories. Then finally hijacked the asshole chopper that was hassling me, and inadvertently jumped out of it on my way to the next faction mission, necessitating grabbing a jeep and trucking on down there, leaping out of it when I drove it over a cliff. Then I was about to take the next faction mission when the turreted jeep I was machine-gunning with blew up, taking me with it. So, went back over there and cleaned out the place, and got the limo-chase mission – drove the motorcycle down the hill and off a cliff (again, I love that shit), and managed to slingshot and grapple my way down far enough to barely jump on the limo. Then I got it all the way to the rendezvous point by dint of conservative driving (enjoying watching the maniac jeeps chasing me vaulting right over the limo several times), and then held off the heat with the help of my gang buddies.
Then jumped on a pickup of said gang buddies and had fun grappling pursuers to the ground – very entertaining to watch a baddie fly off the pursuing jeep and bounce along the ground, and also to see a motorcycle keep driving on its own after I’d snatched the driver off to the side. Finally jumped off by mistake and the thing blew up, and I cruised around in midair for a while before finding myself at the blue gang’s base, so I took the oil refinery invasion mission and got blown up at the (mounted-gun-free!) finale.
And with that, it’s time for bed. FUCK ME, this game never fucking stops, does it?
Just Cause 2 does not do checkpoints right.
I just tried to do the 3rd faction mission, the mountain rescue one. I completed 2 of the 4 vent stations and took out 33% of the base and then I died. So I had to start at 0% and at the beginning and erasing 15 minutes or so of work. I rage quit instead. Fuck you Avalanche, fuck you in the fucking ear you Swedish fucks.
Try 100% the base before starting the mission. Makes it a bit easier.
