Yes. That’s perfect.
Honestly I’d be happy to have anything with the Just Cause 2 engine. It could even be in other genres. As long as they include the ability to somehow stay very mobile, including being able to fly. One thing their engine does better than any game I’ve ever played is line of sight details. If something is really far away, it’s still visible. It’s the only game I’ve seen which reminds me a lot of reality in the way it handles objects in the distance, and being able to see really far.

I was stood on a mountain the other day when I was playing this, and I could see two skyscrapers in the far distance, the ones from the very first mission. I looked on my map to check where they were, and they were over eight kilometres away as the crow flies. The engine is incredible.
I get a bit sick of the actual game if I play it too long, but it’s perfect to load up, 100% a town or do a couple of missions, and put back again. I’ll probably be struggling towards 76% completion in the nursing home.

The mountains and the ski resort (with functioning chair lifts) were incredible. I also liked diving through the coral reefs.
Amazing world, just a tad dead from a gameplay perspective.

just finished the story mode, 18 hours of gameplay (steam shows 31), all faction missions done, but only 26% ?
Anyway, great game, and as other noted, amazing engine. Shame they are not going to license it.
Now I will put SuperRico mod back in and just screw around once in a while.
so…what actually does it mean to 100% a location?
I just bought the game on Steam, and I am really at a loss as to what to do. Pretty much, all I do is run around and blow stuff up…but, that is about it.
I am reading about missions and stuff…I guess I need to find someone for those. But as far as 100% locations, I cannot figure out exactly WHAT I need to do to do that.

You need to blow up everything that can be blown up (ie that has a little health meter) and collect all the collectibles. Doing so will mark that location as complete and will give you more chaos and money. I believe it also reduces the guard presence at that location in the future.

Collectibles are not always easy to spot. If you’re stuck finding them all your little radar thingy at the top of the screen will start showing bars, as soon as you get near enough to one.

Aha, on the PC with a mouse and keyboard, to hijack a moving vehicle that has a defending passenger you have to grapple-dangle and then hit down to get into the “kill the guy” position. (You’ll be clinging to the helicopter’s nose, for example.) Then you can shoot the passenger and attempt to enter the vehicle as already explained.
I already knew how to do this, but it’s been a couple of months since I’d played and I’d forgotten that it was the down command. With the 360 controller I guess it’s easier to stumble across that if you don’t know by wiggling the stick around. Guess I rediscovered how poorly documented this one particular feature is. Probably has something to do with the way the game was ported to the PC.

I really need to start this game…
Re-bought this game for the PC, after playing the 360 version a couple times, just because of the mod community (and the fact I now have a desktop that can run it).
Also bought a 360 controller for the PC - worth it. I may be in the minority, but I can’t think of a 3rd person shooter that works better with keyboard/mouse than a controller. Aiming is still better, and I do switch to the mouse every now and then for that (since I can seamlessly move back and forth), but everything else sucks w/o the analog control of the controller.

Completed this tonight: ~30 hours, 29% completion. Spoilers below.
In general, I wasn’t a big fan of the last three agency missions. The boss fights in particular were frustrating for me. A lot of dying, reloading, and figuring out the gimmick to win. But I estimate that while playing a boss fight, I spent 60-75% of my time on the loading screen. Especially that damn Three Kings Hotel mission with the tank on top surrounded by mines? That mission ticked me off.
I would say that my top three favourite missions so far would have to be:
-
Agency Mission #2 - the one where you have to ride motorbikes through the desert? That mission was nice and long and had a good amount of variety.
-
The Lost Island mission where you take out the EMP device. My mission took place at night, and I loved stealthing up those towers and blowing up the domes.
-
The Ular faction mission where you need to blow up the three satellite rockets, only to have a fourth rocket take off, which you then have to shoot out of the sky while it’s launching? So awesome.
This was a great game.

Okay, so someone just optioned a Just Cause movie.
Now, Just Cause 2 is one of my favorite console games ever. I love it more than I should, probably.
But I have trouble figuring out how it would work as a movie.

Michael Bay.
It may not be good, but it’ll have plenty of explosions. And live-action Bolo Santosi.
Neat!
I just began playing this yesterday after finally getting it from Gamefly, and wow, it’s amazingly wonderful and crazy. I suck at it, but wow it’s fun.

Lots of brainless action, that’s almost all of the summer movies, there. Why they would want to license something so easy to just make up plot/character/settingwise is beyond me.
I’d think rather easily - given that it is essentially the transcription of a blockbuster action movie to a video game.

Please let this be the reason for the option.

This is how the movie should work:
Bolo SantoZEE: Ohhh, ScorpIAN! You only have eighty minutes to get to the other side of Panau! Watch out for the evil military! Go!
CUT TO: EIGHTY MINUTES of CONTINUOUS EXPLOSIONS and PARASAILING and VEHICLE HIJACKINGs and VEHICLE EXPLOSIONs and several FLASHBACKS (to EARLIER EXPLOSIONS) and SEVERAL THOUSAND FACELESS MINIONS DYING.
Bolo SantoZEE: Good job, Rico!
CREDITS.
It writes itself!
