Finally decided to get the last missions out of the way since I haven’t fired this up in a while. Naturally, ended up dicking around way more than actually doing the missions. :D I wonder if I’ll keep playing (still feel the urge) now that those are out of the way?
Anyway, final stats: 51hrs played (Raptr sez 108, but I paused it a lot - on the other hand, the game doesn’t track restarts and I think I lost a save at some point, so let’s call it ~60), 52.5% completion. Went with ReapAHs for the showdown, of course.
Random thought:
Whoever did Sheldon this time around was terrible. In the first game, for the longest time I actually thought it was this guy, who’s done the Bond-sidekick thing already - the story/dialogue may have been terrible but at least it was delivered with some pep; this time, not so much. :/
Edit: huh, it was actually this guy instead. Looks like he’s been doing it for a while. I can’t seem to find the entry for JC2; but of course with the voice acting this bad, maybe no one wants to be seen in its company …
I’m nowhere near the end of the game myself. Spent a lot of time practicing gunplay, grappling around to avoid enemy fire and whipping guys to use less ammo. I’m getting better because I helped take over my first stronghold, which wasn’t as difficult the second time around. I then found a couple of military bases and have been having fun with them.
I did find this one huge military satellite thingy in the mountains, and would love to blow it up but can’t. Sads. Overall though, having a ton of fun, and still learning the game, but that’s part of said fun. :)

Not sure which one you’re talking about, but there are a couple of items that are a bit tricky:
One is kind of a big tower, and it requires you to go down the stairs in the base (it will go below the surface with stairs and a lot of bad guys) and find a self destruct button, push that then get out. I suck at those because I have horrible run and gun skills.
The other is a base with a tower, you push buttons around the bottom and an antenna comes out and rotates. You have to shoot the blades of the antenna to kill it.
K, this one is like a HUGE dish with some scaffolding in the center suspended above it by large wires coming from four very tall towers around the dish. I found some buildings that let you go downstairs with some panels, but I wasn’t able to interact with them. It’s in the southeast portion of the largest island – East Tanah Raya – in the mountains.
That help?

I’m pretty sure that’s a mission location; most of the unique places are. In other words, you won’t be able to destroy it until that’s called for - although you can still 100% it (probably) by picking up crates and blowing up fuel tanks etc.
Ooooooooooooooooooohhhh, okay, that explains why I can’t interact with those panels that look like they’re BEGGING to be interacted with. Cool, I’ll just 100% it and move on. It’s a really fun place.
The Arecibo Radio Telescope replica? That is an awesome location in Just Cause 2. Also eventually you will get a very fun mission there.
YES! That is exactly it (had to Google the image to make sure). Very cool place, spent a few hours killing and blowing stuff up there. Will keep an eye out for a mission there. :)
Found a picture of the place:

How is that a spoiler? I just found the place on the map like anyone could.
yeah but I didn’t know there was a MISSION that goes along with it
now everything’s ruined

Post-game report: 57% (from 52%). Fun: still present. :)
There’s just something about aiming at a building, ziplining, releasing the zip halfway there to pop the chute, and then closing the chute to basically SOAR through the air - all in one smooth set of movements, and then REPEAT! - that I haven’t found anywhere else. It’s just such a great balance of effortless movement and skill, IMO.
That’s one thing Prototype got very nearly right, too. The movement is effortless, but it still takes real time and just a bit (perhaps it could be a bit more skill-based) of skill to get places and accomplish things.
Yeah, movement in Prototype is fantastic, to be sure. For some reason I still prefer inFamous over it though. That said, JC2 is probably the best sandbox game I’ve yet played, even only 7-8 hours in. It’s just amazing.
Shitbags!!
I never found that mission. Hell, now I have to load JC2 back up tonight…

You know, I haven’t played JC2 in a while, stopped while I played RDR and a couple of other games.
Went back to it today. I’d forgotten what a complete blast it is. Since I hadn’t played in a while, I just grabbed a chopper and flew over to Panau City. I’d gotten it to about 85%. Drove around on a cool motorcyle, listening for propaganda trailers, found one I’d missed, destroyed it, zipped up on a roof and waited for the bad guys to show up. Two vehicles full of soldiers screech to a halt on the street and they stream out, and I start picking them off from my perch. I run out of ammo, so I risk zipping down to grab some guns/ammo from the guys I took out, and suddenly another truck shows up. I’m trying to take them out even though I only found a little ammo, then I hear “The calvary is here!” and a truck with a mounted gun skids up and starts firing on the bad guys - it’s the citizen rebels! We have a great gun battle, after it is done I climb on the truck and man the mounted gun while a rebel drives. Stopped at a gas station and notice some gas cylinders still in the racks, and decided to try something I had always wanted to try. I shot one and set it flying like a rocket, waited for soldiers to show up, got on the roof, waited until a soldier got close, jumped down, attached the grapple rope to him and a cylinder then shot the cylinder. Sure enough it flew off and up and took the soldier with it! Too cool!
It got dark so I found a chopper and flew over the city, looking for any goodies I’d missed, found one flickering in the dark. Then decided to go do a mission for Bolo. Went from the city to the jungles, with some boating in between,
I have only got about 30% complete and I have to tear myself away from just wandering around creating havoc. Too much fun.

Jeff, I think I realized why we like JC2 so much. It’s like a good 90’s flight simulator, but in this case you’re simulating a mercenary for hire. It’s a badass simulator.
I really need to start this game, maybe this weekend ahead, as I have no cash for Fallout Vegas, and I am burned out on minecraft.
