Little bits of spy-movie type music, yeah.
Really?
I’m not trying to be funny (since I would be failing), I just don’t remember any music other than little sound cues when I finished a mission or completed an area. I remember lots of sound and chatter, just no music. That’s very weird!
Did you ever do an extraction? Do you recall the little bit of music they played during that? Or during any cutscene with the black market dude? Or the little bit of music when your heat would go up? The music was light, but it was there.
Yeah, but I didn’t view that as music as far as a game soundtrack goes; just background noise and sound cues, essentially. Hence the confusion of them releasing a soundtrack.
There are like 3 songs, and some ice cream truck sounds, its a very weak soundtrack :p
On a side note , I will FINALLY be starting this game tonight!
Starting? Wow, enjoy my friend. I’ve put in about 10 hours and the game says I’m 6% completed. I like that. :)

I think that propaganda chime is going to be my new ringtone :)

If there was any music, I certainly didn’t notice it since I was quick to replace it with my own soundtrack. I do agree that the propaganda tone would make a great ringtone, though.
I liked the techno/whatever song at mile high club. Glad to see it included. And agreed about Propaganda theme - that song is funny.

I finally went back and finished this earlier this month: 20 hrs, 27% complete. I absolutely loved this game. I would go back and try and finish up more of the side missions if my back catalog wasn’t so huge. After watching me play a bit my kids would go around pointing out structures in the real world where I could grapple. They would point at radio towers, water towers, and gas tanks and scream “Chaos Points!”
That is truly adorable. :-D
I got to try this last night, and while it was difficult to control, it was indeed damned hilarious. I also almost took out another helicopter with the head. ;)

That’s true, I did get some entertainment value from a small helicopter + average car combo. You could get a real unstoppable physics cyclone going.
Just finished the main storyline today. This game was so fun and awesome.
Anyway, bump because it came down to $30 on Steam. (It was still $50 last week I believe which is why I bought it from the store.)

Finally got this game and have spent about 8 hours playing it the past 2 days. I do NOT do this normally but JC2 is so ridiculously awesome. I’m about 18 hours in and 15% done. There’s a lot of games I haven’t played this year (RDR, ME2, SMG2, etc.) but this might be my GOTY.
I’m 15 hours in and only 8% done myself, and I do think it’s my GOTY. I’ve not been this obsessed with a game in a very long time.

Once I came to accept the evidence that a game which runs on a console system will also run on my laptop, I picked it up (despite system requirements)
So far I am really liking having a gas cylinder attached to a soldier, then shooting the cylinder. There’s enough power there to drag him around. Oh, and the really awesome moments where sitting on the motorbike, getting absolutely smashed by a truck that decided to swerve into my path (I swear!) and Rico managing to pick himself up and carry on (with a big chunk of health gone of course). This guy’s unbreakable. That said, I think I’m having more than enough fun just cruising around the islands at high speed and taking in the scenery.
My next goal is to attach a motorbike onto a helicopter, airlift it to the casino and drive it off the skyway and see what happens. That better be possible… And if so, do I open the parachute, or not?

I bet you can stick it. ;)

It works!!!
I was able to use the roof, there was plenty of room to land both the motorbike (requisitioned from the Panuan military) and the helicopter to land (I have this strange obsession to land my aircraft, even if that means getting a light plane to touch down on the highways and taking out any motorbike riders unfortunate enough to get in the way).
No stunt points awarded though… Didn’t matter anyway because there was no chute used (partly because I thought I could clear that bit of land), which meant the motorbike burst into flames and the new modern day Evil Knievel - aka Rico the Unbreakable didn’t survive. He sure put on quite the show for the amused casino guests.
Anyway, that was a time consuming exercise which satisfied the little child in me. Games like this and Red Faction are great like that, getting in touch with the inner child. I’m still laughing to myself. I wish I had FRAPS running to capture the excitement.
