Kemet play-by-forum game

I am playing the 5 attack -2 dudes card. Apologies for the delay, under the weather.

@Infested_terran

I also play the 5 strength, -2 card. And with the discard, that’s my last battle card so I refresh my hand.

I also play

then cross my fingers that Lantz didn’t have +3 strength out of his DI cards…

(the raining fire DI card seems flat out inferior to a simple +1 strength card)

Are we playing with this win condition or the Seti one where you need 8 VP at the start of your turn?

That was my misunderstanding of the Ta-Seti victory condition.

Well, the battle outcome? :D

By my count it’s my:
7 units
1 flaming khopesh
5 battle card

vs
5 units
5 battle card
? DI cards

Unfortunately, gotta be home to administer it.

We can speed things along and just say I won!

For expediency sake, I mean.

Battle! Bastet (Infested_terran) vs Wadjet (Lantz)
Bastet is attacking with 7 units plus the Deep Desert Snake creature.
Wadjet is defending with 5 units plus the Giant Scorpion creature.

Objects:
Bastet uses the Flaming Khopesh for +1 str and the Double-Edged Dagger for an additional VP swing in outcome.

Battle cards:
Bastet plays [5 str sac 2 troops] and the following DI cards:
Bronze Wall - +1 prot
Glory: receive 4 pp for victory
Reinforcements: receive three free recruits for victory, after damage step but before retreat.
Lantz plays [5 str sac 2 troops] and the DI card Divine Protection: takes no damage if victorious.

Total strength:
Bastet has 7 for troops, 5 for card, 1 for object = 13
Wadjet has 5 for troops, 5 for card = 10
(Deep Desert Snake cancels Giant Scorpion)
Bastet wins! +2 permanent VP
Bastet receives +4 PP for Glory card (capping out at 11 PP)

Damage:
Neither army inflicts damage except on themselves.
Bastet receives 3 free unit recruitments to any of Bastet’s troops or city squares (but you only have the two units you sacrificed in reserve)

Retreat/recall:
@Infested_terran - want to recall?
@Lantz - retreat or recall?

No recall.

I had 5 PP after playing that card so I believe I should be at 9?

Recall please

You had 6 PP after that play - I think you’re forgetting to include the 1 PP you got for your earlier priest move. So you’re at 10. I think I accidentally moved Wadjet’s PP marker instead though. I’ll fix it tonight.

(Also, since my method of tracking cards moving out of your hand is to delete them from imgur, probably don’t link to them as your play. :) )

Looks like battle has been completely resolved, so my turn now?

Far as I know.

@Greatatlantic

@malkav11

Uh, Can I get a new map and a VP count for all the players?

Iron Wolf gave his summary, so I know where he stands, but how many do infested terrain and Lantz have?

Anubis (Greatatlantic) is at 4 VP
Wadjet (Lantz) is at 6 VP
Bastet (infested_terran) is at 5 VP
Sobek (ironwulf) is at 1 VP

Wadjet’s one successful attack (on a VP site) away from winning but I can’t see that happening this turn with no units on the map and no Recruit action left. Bastet or Anubis are easily within range of catching up.

Actually, I think you have Lantz VP count off.
@Infested_terran should now the temp VP from Lantz’s level 4 pyramid, so all @Lantz would have would be his permanent VP (which I think are 4?)

In my head Lantz has beaten me twice and you once, plus 1 from the Path of Ta Seti, and 1 from simply buying a permanent VP. Hence… 5.

infested terrain has 1 from temple control last turn, and just picked up 2 with his battle giving him 3 permanent. He 1 temporary from the temple and 1 from Lantz’s pyramid. However, he definitely has PP to promote one of his pyramids to 4 giving him another temporary. So, 5 almost 6. He can also probably buy a VP tile, so nearly 7. Pretty sure he can’t get more than that, though, right?

So, well, it looks like this won’t be the last round. Well, I still got nothing, so my action is to simply pray again.

PP: 0 + 2 = 2.

@Lantz

Got it, I miscounted a battle. He’s actually beaten me twice, but one of those times he was the defender.

You’re right, I forgot he recalled off the temple. But yeah, five permanent VP.
