I hear people talking about this a lot, but i’ve never actually noticed anything to explain this belief and i’m a huge gamer and software developer.
My MS natural keyboard was a perfectly good keyboard and i still use one at work. No tired/damaged fingers yet.
I didn’t see this mentioned, but mecha ARPG World War Machine looks pretty awesome.

I REALLY like the designs on those mechs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it. It’s an odd mix of rags and technology. I think I may have to back this one on those designs alone.
I know, right? Great design, meaty looking weapons, mechs and procedurally generated battlefields, quests and so on? I’m so sold.
Looks cool but they don’t move like mechs. That kinda bothers me.
But they’re living machines! ;)
It’s pretty, but I think I want to know some idea of the story and the other two nodes.

I jumped in at the 15 dollar level. I paid the same for The Incredible Van Helsing and ended up being pleasantly surprised. This one looks as fun.
self-promotion alert
I don’t know if anyone around here plays Dungeon World, but I just launched a kickstarter for a humble adventure for that RPG.

You will never make the last $88, Jason. Edit: Make that $36 …
Matt Jackson here - lead designer on World War Machine - thanks Hepcat! it’s appreciated. We’re trying to make the best game for our fans… and if you like Van Helsing, i think it will be right up your alley. Don’t forget to tell your friends! also, I can answer any questions you or anybody else might have about WWM!
Hi Starlight! We’re currently developing different enemy designs to go with our story for the different Nodes. We will reveal them as we move forward.

There’s a kickstarter up now for the digital version of Twilight Struggle. It’s through Playdek so it should be good. The pricing structure is a little odd, but at the 65 dollar level you get a copy of Twilight Struggle the board game. And that’s never a bad thing.
Is the “Deluxe edition” of the physical game they’re giving as a reward different from the one I’d find at retail?
Hey man, welcome, REALLY excited about your game!

Nope. The only version you can buy for the last few years has been the deluxe version. It has a mounted map board and not a paper one like the original, non deluxe version.

Can someone ELI5 the Square ties for me? Are these folks who also work at Square doing a side project? I am very much opposed to backing established businesses with Kickstarters tho I have begrudgingly done it a few times (Harmonix, Lomography) but I hate this trend.
Square Enix’s Collective is basically a crowdfunding initiative hosted by Square Enix through some sort of Indiegogo integration - kind of a curated crowdfunding thing, I guess? Square isn’t making the game.
