You might have gotten confused by one of the reviewers calling it “asynchronous” when they meant “asymmetric”.
I was starting to wonder. :)
Nope, boardgame. I don’t personally know anyone who does app development, I don’t think. And I probably wouldn’t post about a Kickstarter specifically for a mobile app because I hardly ever touch mobile stuff and probably wouldn’t back a Kickstarter for one. But no reason you should know that.

Trove does look interesting. Too bad I couldn’t hear a word that was said in the video, since the music was much louder than the narration.

I came to whine about the same thing, rather than important things like Trademarks.
I’m surprised these kickstarters don’t do some kind of bulk-buy option for people/shops that want to import it to their country.

I believe it’s forbidden by Kickstarter’s TOS.

Maybe, I thought what Steve Jackson did with the Ogre KS was pretty clever with the 'extra unit sheets/scenarios" - and it pretty much guaranteed a positive rate if return for those that put the money into it.
I continue to be surprised to realize that people watch Kickstarter videos. I never do. Barely even remember they exist at this point.
We’re all just hoping to come across the next unexpected Mooncrest and get that sweet, sweet credit for posting about it here.

Fantasy, tactical RPG all about Dwarves - Hell yeah!
This is King Art Games third Kickstarter. I backed their first, a tactical TB game, but never got around to playing it. It was on time and scored pretty well with reviewers. Second game was a point and click adventure game I didn’t back because of the genre, but it too was on time and even better received than their first.
I’m not sure about their battle system in this one, but it looks pretty cool and if they could pull it off, might be pretty epic.
I also have no idea about the Markus Heitz novels, but this game might provide a better LOTR than experience than Jackson’s movies.

I’m pretty bored of LOTR-style dwarves and their dwarven armour. Can’t someone reinvent dwarves for the 21st century?
Then you’ll love my new Kickstarted classic isometric PC RPG (Linux/Mac as our first stretch goal, tabletop RPG supplement as second, and a series of wifi-enabled shotglasses as the third), Pathos and Beards: Lady-Dwarves of the Amazocalypse, featuring kickass lady-dwarves in tight leather bikinis fending off the most fearsome threat the beautiful Amazon island-chain has ever faced: fracking! Fight off nefarious Republican oil company goons with dwar-fu, collect lady-beard tassles to raise your femme-power, and most of all, KICK SOME ASS.
Coming literally right now, we swear, just give us your fucking money.
I vaguely remember reading some story where the dwarves lived in trees and the elves lived underground. I assume the author was trying to be edgy or something.
Googling for “tree dwarves” doesn’t help though. I just get gardening sites.
I went in on this one. 1) I love Dwarves! 2) What they have so far looks beautiful and has promise and 3) They’ve delivered on two other projects so far.
Looking forward to kicking ass as the best fantasy race of them all!

Here are a few that I’m currently waiting on - anyone else back these?
Catacombs - this is probably my most anticipated one - can’t wait to start putting on the dozens of stickers and get it on the table. Dexterity game where you flick your heroes around to take out the Overseer’s minions.
Kingdom Death: Monster - got sucked into this almost three years ago (it’s been a while, wow) but they’re finally starting to deliver. Core game should be on its way in about a month and I’ve got a small rewards box en route for delivery Saturday. The creator has made one insanely packed game that I really hope turns out well! The thought of putting together all the figures is incredibly daunting though.
Mistfall - this is a co-op fantasy board game that looks great. I tried a little solo to learn the rules but didn’t get to finish the first scenario. Looking forward to trying it out more though.
Bottom of the 9th - baseball game that looked pretty neat. Should be here next month I believe.
Project: ELITE - this is another highly anticipated one for me. The real-time game play of Escape: Curse of the Temple mashed with an alien invasion was too good to pass up. Due in November but not sure if they’ll make that deadline.
I’ve had the original version of Catacombs for years, it is good fun. Almost backed the new version, but just decided I didn’t need the new artwork (as bad as the old stuff is, heh).
I also backed Kingdom Death. All the gameplay expansion stuff, too- ran me over $400 back then (what can I say? I had a good job at the time). I’m excited to finally get it, as well. I can’t imagine it will be worth the current going rate for the basic set but it is one of those amazing rare deals in hindsight.

I’m not sure I want to look at our KD:M total with the expansions, etc. But hey, at least it’s almost here!
I really like the artwork of the new Catacombs though it sure was divisive in the KS comments and BGG. My wife, not so much. Maybe she’ll change her tune after trying it out.
I actually like the new art, and think the old stuff was terrible in a charming “sketches your best friend made on folders in high school” sort of way. It just doesn’t matter to me that much, though. I have the all the expansion stuff for the original, too, so I’ve got plenty of options.
With KD:M, I’m almost glad I won’t get all the expansions at the get-go. It seems like it would be pretty overwhelming. I’m really looking forward to running my friends through the campaign, like we did with Risk:Legacy years ago. The combat does seem like a simplistic dice-fest (rather like R:I, now that I think about it), but all the other stuff that surrounds it makes it sound pretty over the top.

I love the whole ‘grow the community’ aspect - individual survivors don’t matter as much and will likely die off but maybe they’ll contribute some lion bits or a phoenix claw or what-not. Agree on the expansions - would be way too overwhelming. I think the box is about 17 lbs last I read as it is so we’ll have our hands full for a while without them.
Yup. That’s what I meant by ‘the stuff that surrounds it’. Researching new tech, creating new gear, discovering the world, all the wacky events. It’s gonna be crazy.
