Speaking of which, hello early rewards box! Wasn’t expecting you until tomorrow. Even a bonus tiny bag of gummi bears. Surprised that the t-shirt is actually halfway decent and free of phallic monster parts!

The new version of Catacombs looks great. Rahdo did a runthrough recently and I think it’s going to be a hit with the kids. One of my sons, whenever we play Rampage, spends the bulk of his time trying to either throw cars at the rest of us or knock us over with his paws. The new art just makes it more appealing as a family game. I’m looking forward to it hitting retail.

Love Catacombs but the price on the Kickstarter climbed higher and higher with all the things they kept adding so I pulled my pledge. Hopefully it reaches coolstuff at an OK price.

Gus, Murbella and Thraeg you are all smarter than me. I just took a look at Kickstarter and saw that not only has there not been any updates since May 16th (not even a “Hi, we’re still here!”) but apparently they haven’t even bothered logging in to Kickstarter since June. So I guess that’s $20 down the drain. My first time burned with Kickstarter.

A little late, with only 2 hours left it is last call on ECO. They made a 200K stretch goal.

This is by some of the dudes that did Darksiders. Sign me up!

Huh, looking just at that first GIF, if you told me it was a licensed Berserk product, I would have believed you. Looks pretty nifty.

I just caught the first Berserk movie on Netflix yesterday so I actually get that reference! Now I need the rest…

$482,000 of $500K already in the first few hours. Looks like this one will be funded in less than 24 hours. Almost all of the 7500 “Early Backer” tier spots ($20/$25/$27) are gone already.

On a side note, they did a really nice job with the Kickstarter presentation. The video is great and describes the concept of the game very well while showing off gameplay and giving a sneak peak at some really nice looking assets that will make their way into the game. The rest of the page is well laid out, with colorful eye-catching artwork and I love the little animated scenes that separate the sections of the description. The reward tiers are well-defined and easy to understand, and the stretch goals are all things that sound as if they’d work well within the game without being unrealistic. This is a great example of “how to do KickStarter right”!

My only gripe, and it’s a small one, is that they seem to have aimed a bit too low. It looks like they could have easily had 10,000 or more “Early Backer” slots and just split them between $20 and $25 levels. I suspect they’ll still make far more than the $500K they’re asking for, but they might have underestimated interest and left some money on the table.

Looks like a pretty cool game. I wish them luck and success.

Don Quixote, did you get your Kingdom Death tracking #? Got a 22 lb box of goodness coming to me from within California via OnTrac! No estimated delivery date yet.

Nope. Saw the threads over on bgg, though, and am checking my email way too often. So excited.

Mine says it still hasn’t picked up by OnTrac so the wait continues. In better news, my Catacombs KS was delivered and is waiting for me at home. Can’t wait to break it open and start sticking the dozens of stickers on the disks!

This dude designs and Kickstarts pocket games, reminiscient of the old SJG and Task Force jobbies from the 80’s and 90’s. They are even pretty good, apparently, but for <$5 how could you go wrong!

His latest effort is up now - Carrier Command.

C’mon Brian Rubin, get into some old time analogue space games!

You’ve got it pointed to his last one - here’s Carrier Commander.

I wish I had known about him earlier but glad to have backed this one already. For $3, not too much risk and it supports creativity like this. I used to love those old baggie games back in the day.

My massive 22lb Kingdom Death: Monster box is scheduled to be delivered today - too much goodness all at once! Board game night tonight too so it’ll have to wait 'til tomorrow for proper opening. And then I’ll be building little survivors for the next few years probably…so many tiny pieces…

Board…game…?

Brian, are you going to tell us you’ve never played Twilight Imperium? If there was ever a game that had your name all over it, it would have to be that one.

I am going to tell you that, because it’s true.

You’re blowing my mind. I’d say that’s a game that should be experienced at least once, especially for you. I wouldn’t recommend buying it, unless you know five other people who can be counted on for regular game nights, but maybe your local hobby shop has pickup games you can join. If you have eight or so hours to spare.

I don’t have 8 hours to spare, sadly. If I did, it’d be going to my blog or finding a job. ;)

Speaking of space games, but of much shorter ones, I got my shipping notification for Tiny Epic Galaxies last night! Even better, USPS says it should be here on Monday!
