Shit yeah I did.

George Lucas had an idea once…Disney should recognize that they could have a once-in-a-lifetime type of talent here.

I’ve heard rumors that Felicia Day might be interested in one of the major roles - also, there might be rogue-like elements!

Yeah, plus they’re already gearing up to get the network infrastructure for the MMO stuff in-place. Even better, they’re six months away from a working prototype at most, and their laboratory tests already show that the potato salads demo units produce are head and shoulders above whatever goopy shit yo momma could throw together, sonnnn.

There is no saracasm in kickstarter.

Which is a damn shame. I’d love a reboot of the Sara Casm Show from the 90s!

It hurts that he’s only willing to ship a copy of the game to the US. Once again Canadians lose out.

I remember a thread on BGG a long time ago that talked about the frustrations typically encountered when shipping through Canadian customs that it might as well be international. Something like shipping out of eastern Canada to New York taking a few days but shipping from New York to eastern Canada taking 2-4 weeks depending on customs, plus costing way more. So the theme of the thread on BGG was that US-only trade lists could not include Canada because of the stupid one-sidedness of the deal, where Canadians would say “What’s the big deal, it only costs me $10 to ship this game out to you?” when Americans would say “I’m sorry that the game took a few weeks to get there, and also I’m out on a $10-20 differential on shipping”.

All of this is third-party anecdotal, so feel free to shame me.

Guys, being a backer is also paying off dividends. I present his first update:

Updated some of what the game will be about. Tried to create a mental image of how the game will look and feel.

Not ONLY is his description now THREE paragraphs instead of one, but there’s a new backer level:

New paragraphs:

There are many people out there that have the wrong image when they think about this game so I will go into deep detail as much as i can to get people more excited about this. As I know there are other “very good” games over Star Wars, but within the bounds of good taste, I believe that these RPG’s over Star Wars have not reached their full potential. I do not feel immersed in these games. I am not talking about a 1995/2005 game that could be created in a month or two. I am talking about a Star Wars RPG that will completely blow people away; like “Fallout 4”, or “The Witcher 3” did. These RPG’s set the benchmark of how the future of RPG’s should look, and they are a good blueprint to go on. I want to make something that is like this in some respects, but goes even further. It will have the graphics of “Battlefront” or better with the feel of “The Witcher 3”.

The game and story will also have a lot of choice. You will be able to choose which side you would like to be on. You can be evil and reside on the Darkside and rule the galaxy as you wish, or you could also bring peace about the galaxy. Both in their own respects have their perks. Speaking of perks: Like “Fallout 4” there might or might not be perks in the game. At least not the same as they are in “Fallout”. I do not want to give away much about the story, but I will give away that you do not start out as a Jedi, but later become one. As you progress your skills get better as your ability to use the force. It is very exciting that I have already gotten backers. I will be providing updates every couple of days, and answering any questions that you might have. I am still answering others so please be patient.

I wanna reside on the darkside

Shit man, I’ve read that Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 are GOTY-quality titles. KOTOR can’t possibly compete with qualities of that magnitude.

I dunno, there might or might not be perks even…

I think, as a backer and Genuine Gaming Press Celebrity, it’s your duty to guide his creative vision. You should probably bump up your pledge to the $1,500 tier so you can provide that sort of valuable input for the development process directly!

“I do not want to give away much about the story, but I will give away that you do not start out as a Jedi, but later become one.”

DUDE, spoiler tags…ugh.

He’s not talking about some 2005 game that could be created in a month or two. He’s talking about a 2016 game that he’ll create with $200k.

Yeah, he’s either 12 or trolling.

My guess was ex-DoubleFine staff.

I find that trend disturbing but maybe everyone’s still in holiday mode. I’m sure the number of backers will get a huge boost once everyone’s back to work. Or there could be a lot of folks who want to back but haven’t seen the new movie yet and don’t want to accidentally see spoilers.

Actually Lucas wanted to do Flash Gordon. But he was told that Fellini was already going to make it. So he decided to make his own generic version of Flash Gordon called Star Wars.

Edit:No, really.
