Killing Volunteers For Jesus

So some raging douchebag ran his SUV into the St. Paul Planned Parenthood clinic. Makes me ill.

Cue Bill Hicks’ “pro-lifers killing people” routine.

I guess nobody was hurt, so that’s good. Hopefully they lock this psychopath up before he tries again.

Why can’t this fuckheads at least have the decency to kill themselves in the process of this shit?

Probably not news to anyone here, but pro-lifers would be better off finding a more specialized clinic… abortion only comprises a tiny percentage of Planned Parenthood’s services.

I love that he drove an SUV. Fuck the planet, I gotta save them babies!

If you’re smart enough to understand that, you’re too smart to do this.

Probably not news to you, cesare, but they don’t like contraception or people are concerned about STDs, either.

He should face multiple felony counts and depending on circumstance, probably attempted murder.

Although people like him are in a distinct minority. In this decade more people have been murdered by linux file system authors than anti-abortion activists.

oh mr. reiser. that was a good 48 hours mystery!

…because people who work at Planned Parenthood have been forced to adopt strict security controls to stop people from killing them, which they’ve only done because there was so much violence directed at them last decade.

Need references for that. I believe you, I’m just curious.

Even in the 90s actual violence was always isolated and very very fringe. Like a lot of things, when you look at the statistics for a country of 300 million people, the pro-choice organizations have done one hell of a PR job attaching outliers to the mainstream of a movement.

edit: Pogo, see my link above (taken from this page)

Hans Reiser

So I guess Linoleum’s saying pro-life nutjobs haven’t killed anyone this decade…yet.

EDIT: and talk about inflammatory thread titles - no one was injured, much less killed, dude; even the damage to the building was “minor.” Let’s leave the hysteria and gross hyperbole to Fox News, eh?

You just want terrorists to pitch tents in our backyard like a bunch of squatters.

Yes, YOU DECIDE, after we mis-characterize the issue in the worst possible way. Fair and balanced. :)

Barrackberry! Now they’re making fun of Dirt, too!

That’s fucked up. I grew up in that neighborhood. It’s next door to a fast food restaurant (used to be a Burger King), and across the street from a public library and ball fields.

I found the article a little amusing when they mentioned how they were used to protests - everyone in the area is! I have many memories of going to the library as a kid, and seeing the protests across the street. Heck, my friends and I used to hang out at the Burger King next door in high school and watch them sometimes.

You do NOT use your own SUV for attacks like that. That’s basic training in howling mad activist school.

But how else am I going to get people to click on the thread title? =P

Seeing the disparity between the 1990s and 2000s, I wonder if this is associated with who is currently president. In other words, would violent fanatics more likely be triggered during a period when they see the president as representing a “culture of death”.
Or maybe it just has to do with abortion clinics tightening up their security, or that they’ve been chased off from areas where attacks are more likely.

Sweet Baby Jebus made sure he had a righteous vehicle for the job and he botched it anyway…
