Question about Sith School on Korriban and Yuthara:
Near the end of my stay on Korriban, I was escorted by Lord Uthar and Yuthara to the Sith temple. After I recovered the Star Map on my own, Uthar turned on my. I opted to assist Yuthara in killing him (in accordance with our deal earlier in the game). Then Yuthara turned on me, and I killed her. Or so I thought. After retrieving the Star Map from Tatooine, I came back to Korriban to find Carth’s sun, Dustil. And found out that Yuthara is now in charge of the Sith Academy.
What gives? I thought I killed her in the Sith temple.
Maybe there is a bug. You defeat her in combat and are then given the option to finish her off, or spare her life, and I think it’s even possible to pursuade her to turn back to the light. If you did kill her the whole Acadamy should have gone hostile. If you let her live she allows you to leave peacefully.
On an aside, I actually just played through that part yesterday and thouht it was funny that even though I killed Uther letting Yashura take over, When I did find Dustil he didn’t seem to be up on Uther’s demise. He threatened to tell Uther on us and then attacked. I killed him which didn’t make Carth happy. Is it possible to save him?
I don’t remember exactly what I did, even though I only encountered this scene last week. I thought I killed Yuthara, but she could have ran off for all I remember.

I noticed that Dustil was a bit out of the loop, too. His quest triggered too late.
When I played it on the XBox it was pretty easy to turn Carth’s kid back to the light. As I recall you had to find evidence of wrongdoing in the temple or some such, and then he realizes his father isn’t so bad after all and everyone appears on Oprah the Rodian later.
I saved Carth’s kid before getting the Korriban star map. I then helped Yuthara to kill Uthar and turned her to the light. When I got back to the Academy, everyone had turned hostile so I had to kill them all. At this point it would have been to late to save Dunstil.
If you turn Yuthara and the Jedi Academy on Dantooine still stands, you can met her again in the courtyard there. Yuthara was really one of the more interesting characters in KotOR.
