I still haven’t stopped laughing.
Too funny. It’s a comedy to boot.

Looks worse than Armageddon and Transformers combined.
95% metacritic confirmed, folks.
I don’t get it.
plays with animal crackers, kills 1000 bystanders

From the director of City of Angels.
It didn’t look like it would be very good. Will Ferrell has basically been a high-pitched wailing version of Inspector Clouseau without the accent or the self-esteem for a wee bit too long.
Now Year One, that has some potential. It’s been a while since there’s been a star-driven historical comedy. If you don’t count the Alexander Hamilton/Aaron Burr story told by a drunk guy, also starring Michael Cera.
No, not until he signs on to the Arrested Development movie.
The Jack Black ones are brilliant too.
I don’t think it could be worse than the original series(1974 series).
I hope Enik is in it.
Will Ferrell looks like Rick Marshell, well, same hair style.
Plus I want to see a Sleestak costume that doesn’t look like a costume :p
Will be good for a laugh I hope.
How much does anyone wanna bet the Sleestaks are CG?
-Tom
Nothing. The trailer showed a glimpse of them, and they were definitely cg.
Thankfully, I and my immediate family have been programmed (we think) with the original and correct Sleestak conceptual data models, and this newfangled CG s*** will be filtered out as it should be.
Whew. Yeah. Dodged a bullet there!
nKoan Nothing. The trailer showed a glimpse of them, and they were definitely cg.
The director has stated, nKoan’s definitive eye notwithstanding, that the Sleestak are men in suits, in fact that the whole men-in-suits vibe is essential to the cultural popularity of the Sleestaks.
As someone who owns all three seasons of Land of the Lost on DVD (yeah, the Sleestak nerf bows and arrows do not age well), I can say with complete enthusiasm that I am looking forward to Year One.
Yeah, I was looking at the trailer again after I posted that, and I started to have my doubts that it was CG.
Are the DVDs worth it?
When I was a lad I enjoyed the silly show(mush as I do the '65 spiderman cartoon) and often wondered if it’d be a good buy.
They don’t have a lot of extras, mainly commentary tracks on some of the episodes, but to share with my son the show that made my younger brother hide behind the couch, it is worth every penny. Keep in mind that I am still a fan of the old Doctor Who and can look past bad special effects for decent stories, and this still comes through.
(For cheese, I’d still like to get some Electra Woman, Doctor Shrinker, and The Far Out Space Nuts in DVD form)
