Don’t do level 58.

Today is the “3 lanes down the waterfall day”, I don’t know if level 58 is secretly evil like it is on Angela. I haven’t done this one in a few weeks and I cant’ remember anything except I know I got some wack ass teammates today.

60 is worse, but you won’t meet below level 60 guys, and if you got the central lane, your tank and a multipurpose healer, you can carry the map on your own.

Made it to A rank on Nidhogg. Those slimes are surprisingly robust, they keep surviving my attacks with a couple of hundred hp to spare. The second third dragon’s first attack (under ATK intimidate no less) kept killing my 6k full health-Luna-adjacent Rachel with one hit, so there’s no way I can bring my full team forward even if I manage to bring down the 3rd dragon (which I didn’t, but was very very close) This is the ancient most favorable to my roster too, I’m going to be in for a tough time when it comes to the empire/strategist ones.

Currently 5th on the server, going to savor it before some of the other CLake heavies weigh in.

So I upped my Nidhogg score a little bit, but I got wiped out in the slime phase. Only made it with Luna, Lana, and the two healers. Still only Rank C, 39k from B.

  1. I was not using Rachel well enough in the fight, she didn’tr get a lot of shot sin. Her damage is only ok, like 20k with holy arrow.

  2. I made stupid move with Lanford early and lost im sometime in the second cycle of moves. Which reduced overall damage a little, but I don’t think that matters overmuch.

I think I killed 3 slimes. That phase is rouuuuuugh.

I think so! I did waste a ton of crystals to get a second unwanted Omega though, so you made the smarter choice.

Meh, I used that runestone to finally dual class my Zelda — the dude with his fun ballista setup got me.

How was Lanford? I don’t have him built, but used Angelina instead. She was pretty handy in the fight, between ATK Command, ATK intimidate (don’t know how much that helps really) and being able to move folks with Alternate. One big advantage of Angelina over Lanford I’d think would be Angels.

Lana’s blizzard really helps with spacing out the slimes.

Unfortunately I think the monthly clock is pretty much mandatory if you want to get a good result without too much frustration. For example, for my moderately strong team his 3rd form 3 line attack sometimes wipes everyone in it, sometimes not. I spent most of my retries angling for a better result, pretty RNG dependent. Guess I can’t begrudge them too much for a buck a month.

It helped tremendously my team of losy mages here. Pretty much the difference between life and death consistantly when I removed it.

He boosts everyone’s damage a bit and that’s it really. He can hit for about 20k (I think maybe it was upwards of 24k with Chivalry + Impale). Unfortunately mine is not very good. 4*, hasn’t finished his first two masteries (he’s on the last pip). Can’t take roar as I don’t have the infantry classes. Gear is decent. Maxxed Frostrend, 30 CF, 30CF, and a 50 assault ring. But the enchants are afterthoughts. Decent on the Frostrend, just sort of there for everything else.

Angelina is in the same boat. Neglected for too long. She;s two pips behind and again that’s just the free masteries; I have her in flier so no Alternate or Atk Intimidate. But Attack Command would be better than 4* lanford aura, so maybe I’ll try it. I can buff her gear some. I’ve got her with the red ribbon for some potential sustain, gargoyle 20 (but a bunch lying around),Devil axe 30 (with one lying around), and uh a really shit valor crest (I can do something about that though, at least get her a better one). Although I am going to stick my third Last Rites on her I think (only 20).

So much to fix, so little time.

Leumas’ videos have been instructive. We have comparable Lanas except his is more sturdy and I feel this. His Lana is at 2400 attack after the buff which is insane; I can “only” muster 2k and change. But his Rachel is way ahead of mine (I just hit 618 int, but his is over 750 iirc) and his Lanford is far ahead of mine as well.

He can stun the dragon before the third attack, but I have to go into the second cycle.

Agree on the clock though. And Bless them for giving us 9 uses in the fight. I’ve been using it liberally to see experiment with what the dragon does, try different things, and sometimes I just rewind time to relive my best moments.

First order of business is I have to expose my Rachel to gamma rays so she can hulk out. Also it might be time to swap her buffs (I have her in Clock from ages ago). To Breeze I guess, for pvp. But I might be able to upgrade some gear enchants in the mean time.

I watched his video, his units are much stronger than mine (though our Lanas are comparable, I think) Got some helpful hints, for example I thought that the dragon will fire his 3 row line attack no matter what, since there it’s not explicitly stated like it is in the 3rd attack description. Might give Nidhogg another go later if I have time.

Not really fond of equipment mastery though. Currently, aside from runestones it’s pretty easy to max out a character (including bonds) but this whole new branch of progression, combined with RNGness and that it’s bound to not just a character but character class just narrows the usable portion of my roster. I have a few fun characters like Sigma and Sakura who I’d like to eventually use, but that seems less likely now.

In game text is contradictory here, but it sounds like we’re going to be getting a 5-day rotation of the bosses. One assumes each boss will produce a certain type of runestones (not including pvp) so it shouldn’t be long before we have a decent pile for every class. It being class based is a little odd (makes it a bit fiddly). I was all set to go toss some runes on Ledin and. . . whoops he’s doesn’t qualify for the current stones.

A nice factor in the design is that the whales who dominate pvp won’t be able to get an edge there from being at the top of all the leaderboards for each boss/monthly. OTOH they’re going to get a lot more stones than we do and as a consequence probably have it easier with the rest of the pve content and thus get more stones and yeah. It’s another +80 attack if you can max everything from pve stones e.g.

Still wish we could swap the type of enchant on gear without touching the actual rolls.

Yeah, the separate slot for PvP stones is a good idea since the PvP whales will get 8 SSR stone bundles every week. Still, on both PvP and PvE sides it’s a rich get richer scenario.

So how about Apex this weekend? Unlike last season there’s a big boost in rewards between Silver I and Gold III (SR stones vs SSR stones) so I expect everyone will want climb as fast as possible. Mercenaries seem pretty toothless this weekend, for good or for ill.

Guess it’s time to finally dive in. I’m worried about falling behind on pvp stones and arena and WA getting harder and harder.

I’m not really ready, but what fun is letting that stop me?

I have 12 5k+ characters. One is Cherie, who ain’t coming (4700 or so Leonhardt is likely to take her place). I’ll round out with Liana, Tiaris, and Klose (massive surprise).

I experimented with my Listell in regular arena this week. Don’t think she’s quite ready for prime time, but it’s not like I have a ton of options to use in her place.

posting this quickly from the ipad because it ain’t gonna last long or happen again anytime soon:

Gratz!

Violently wrecked in my first apex match. I somehow missed his Zerida in draft phase. His 6* Zerida. Not that it mattered much. I was outclassed beyond that.

Got a second Miracle Staff today (maybe my shit dragon/joint luck is finally turning), going to Shelf.

I have not managed to beat SS3 yet. I’ve been close a couple of times, I think. But I can’t quite get the right situation to unfold. A lot of people were talking about using 2* Luna to defeat the fliers but mine just isn’t strong enough yet. She’s not far from it.

I lost my first Apex match to a Bozel clock enchant processing.
Super satisfying versus play.

I somehow went 4-1 and qualified into Silver II, which will be a nice little weekly package in the mail tonight that I wasn’t expecting for another week or two. The key match was the fourth, against someone with much stronger troops than mine… And who lost the draft and made a couple of really bad tactical choices I could take advantage of.

Was SS3 the stupid village map, split heroes on setup? That one and SSS4 were the most difficult this week. All three of the end stages were really trivial, though.

Yes. I took one more stab but couldn’t quite get it. I’ll give it the old college try next week. I am going to clear SS5 one of these days.
