I upped me Fenrir effort to C+/1.078M. I was doing well until everything fell completely apart in turn 11. And I couldn’t really recover, I used like 6 rewinds just to get through the turn. I still can’t figure out what happened.

11 is an Odd turn, which means you need 4 debuffs to activate the bonus squares, and I had been in Phase 2 for a few turns. Does Phase 2 change the debuff calculation? Because I got way more than 4 debuffs a bunch of different times and I couldn’t get the stupid squares to activate. I kept finishing the turn with a couple of people killed. I finally found a way through it with only 1 loss and with the square being activated, but it was exhausting and my subsequent play suffered.

Biggest problem with the fight is that my debuffers are still lacking. Listell is probably strongest, followed by Bernie (who still isn’t that good, like 1280 attack with the bonus) and then Jugler. I did a good job getting Bernie and Jugler into non terrible territory but they’re still not quite good enough, the latter especially. I loaned him Ledin’s Oath but it wasn’t enough. They’re taking just a bit too much damagte, I think, and a couple of times I had to work around them not being able to survive attacking Fenrir (and this screwing up the debuff stacking). Still, it was a pretty big improvement from last time - spitting distance of B/1.2M.

My other problem in the fight, sadly, is Varna. I thought she would be stronger than she was. She does ok. If she crits I get pretty good damage (40k on the aoe arrow ability, using the aoe bonus square of course) but it’s not amazing. Working on bonds for everyone as best I can. Also my sky archers are a problem; I’ll probably do Assassin Aniki on Sunday.

Still, it’s two ancients in a row where I jumped from literally just getting the least bonuses I could to shouting distance of B (god I still suck at the slime phase of Nidhogg though, ahahah).

Having this many people’s Bonds to work on I can kind of handle. But the Gate of Fate pinch is super duper real. It almost makes me want to roll more for Luna. At least I am done runing Jugler.

Speaking of which I have no idea who I am going to grant runestones to on Runestone day. Sakura maybe.

It’s been a month so I could be completely wrong, but iirc phase 1 is 4 debuffs, phase 2 is 6 debuffs + fun stuff when you activate the squares, phase 3 is 4 debuffs again and so on.

Is your Varna a flyer? Not sure sky archers are great in Fenrir. She hardly ever normal attacks anyway, and if she does I suspect she’ll get killed by counterattacks (like Lana) partway through. For me, I need to build up Lava titans (they’re only lvl 7 right now) and hell hounds (lvl 8)

I’m about 14 days away from a 6* Landius, 30ish days for 6* Jugler…and 66 days for 6* Yulia.

Wait.

Shit.

I thought the debuff thing applied to turns THIS ENTIRE TIME. I am an idiot.

Glad I cleared that up LOL.

My Varna is a flyer. She’s AoEing (uh, 1000 arrows or whatever and the melee ranged wind attack thingy). For some reason I was thinking I still wanted a ranged troop but you’re right, shes not ever directly attacking.

Guess I will try this again over the weekend. With Rachel about to 5*, I think I’m going to get a couple of people to 4*/5* next, although I want to work on Landius badly.

Ha, I remember being confused about it before as well, since I recall some guide or something referring to it as odd/even turns, as opposed to phases. Regardless, those even phases are tough, this time around I need to rejigger my team as I wasn’t able to get 6 debuffs consistently.

6* Landius will just be an incremental improvement, small percentages everywhere, but will still be worth it since I use him in everything (whereas 5* Rachel is a huge difference and is awesome.)

I think I want to switch ot a Yeless PVP team so I want to get him to 6* for that. I don’t have an accessory for him though, since the game has clearly bugged out for not having given me an Overlord’s badge. Incidentally, my Cherie has a maxxed Lone Star armlet or whatever, and I just had a second one show up. Is there anyone I might use it on, or should I fuse it, or what? I’m always loath to ditch an accessory that isn’t Holy Grail or that completely awful belt thing whose name escapes me. Anyway, I’ve started using Landius a lot in TTs and other places as well.

But oh man I am so excited for 5* Rachel. She’s getting up there now; not too far back from my Lana/Bozel. Oh you know what? I’m putting two runestones into Rachel so I can get all her masteries. I want Gospel and the Int won’t hurt. Sakura can wait a bit (she’ll get one from the Memory Shard shop and the next will just have to be from wherever I get the next one; shit I just realize there’s probably one from the current event).

Yeah, though I hardly use Gospel much it’s nice when people first bans Landius, then you can usually pick up Rachel for a cheap 5th pick and have her self buff. You did miss her heyday a few months ago when people had lower stats, when a True Cross + Arcane Blast could wipe out 80% of healers in the back ranks. Good times.

Lone star is okay on Zerida I guess, I just kept one and ored the rest.

Also I don’t have an overlord’s badge for Landius either, I’m using the guard shins which has worked pretty well.

Somewhat annoying Rachel thing: there’s a pretty good argument for going all the way to the third runestone, since it gets you her best 1-point skill for PvP (and a lot of PvE), and some token int to boot. She is tons of fun though, and if I ever feel like I have the room to breathe with these miserly Gate of Fate chances, I’ll probably push her from 5* to 6* - god knows I use her enough.

My next several runestones are all going to healers, I think, along with a bunch of other investment. I’ve been neglecting building them out in favor of tanks and other core players since they are all strong enough to hold the team up in PvE, but their softness is starting to become an issue in PvP.

Ooh, wanted to share one tip with Nidhogg before I forget (though a bit late now). His first attack, the one that prioritizes ranged, you can circumvent it by summoning a sky archer directly to the right of him, I think his targeting starts at 3 o’clock and goes clockwise. You’ll probably want to do this around phase 5 or so since he can one shot a full health Rachel with sorcs depending on the turn.

Liana’s summon is really useful and well worth the runes.

Got my shin guards on Alte. I do sometimes think about removing them (and also considering if I want his Ragnarok to go to Clarett). The only time I use him in PVP is regular arena on the stupid sand map, an d not always then (but the fbuff is nice for Leon there).

Good god on the sand map my Elwin just randomly moved downward towards thr bottom of the screen instead of advancing to the enemy. He’s got to shoot the two “dunes” sure but what the hell. The AI in tis game is so fucking stupid. A 3.5k power difference and I didn’t kill anyone (his vargas was on steroids, to be sure), in part because my Elwin just took himself entirely out of the fight.

I had already done this for that specific reason: Meditation.

I need to put some stones in Tiaris at some point but my Liana is good to go IIRC. However, I’m still backed on on bonds (I have to roll for the upcoming G&L because I need them for unlocking Tiaris’ defense bond). Waaaay backed up.

SSS final down. This was my easiest ever run to SSSf in part because it was an easy run as these things go but Landius just wrecked a few maps. I didn’t even bust out Sophia on one of them.

I found SSS final a bit tricksy though. I managed to get it working with an all AOE team of Bozel, Lana, Shelf (with a 50 Blue stick because her miracle staff is only 20 and I thought this might be better given that she was in the stat up category), Rachel (getting good) and finally settled on Sophia because I could use a strategic rewind to hurry things along. I didj’t have a proper 5th aoe mage, because Liff is my 5th best aoe mage (in fact, she might be a touch better than shelf in certain circumstances) only the fixed damage immunity sort of rendered the point moot.

I tried with Liana. I had one try where I got it down to everyone but Lana versus just Imedla. I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t beat her it was the most frustrating thing ever. For some reason some of the aoe damage just fell off a cliff even though these people didn’t have the debuff on them. Turns hinged on getting her healing skill sealed and when I couldn’t it was super frustrating. I kept getting her down to like <2k health only to have it all slip through my fingers. Losing Lana was the killer. Although it turned out I couldn’t avoid losing anyone. I was going to fbuff with Bozel after turn 1 earthquake but Leon killed him (despite a bevy of debuffs), but it didn’t matter. Everyone else was doing well after I sorted starting positions and the 5 man silence was killer.

Yay keys. Also next month I can snag my first “TT rune stone” (at 15 frags right now), which is super nice.

Interesting! I’ve never gone pure AoE before. I always relied on a few AoEs to remove soldiers, and subsequently let Landius + Tiaris tank everyone to death (even Vargas, once debuffed)

Also, fought a Rainforce yesterday. He was only 4* and didn’t end up accomplishing too much, but boy was he flashy and looked fun.

Yulia watch: time to start banning. Lots of people have 5* ones now, and since there aren’t many candidates for the Holy AB stones her INT gets stacked pretty high.

Yeah I hadn’t ever tried it either. I think the most I’ve ever used was 3 in a fight before and it still hinged on either a tank mopping up or Leon mopping up. It was pretty fun to get it sorted honestly. I think the fight could probably have been normal tanked though; the time law affected everyone and in one of my attempts (I started out using a more traditional lineup) the AI was literally blunting itself into ineffectiveness.

I gotta get my aoe’s beefed up a bit more. Rachel is 5* tomorrow. I’m not even sure whast’s next though, I keep changing my mind on what to do next. Listel to 5? Landius to 6? Liana to 5 at least (almost certainly)? Lana or Rachel to 6? Luna to 6? And poor Sakura and Yulia need attention to! And apparently people are loving Omega in pve.

Liana is 6* or bust though, 5* doesn’t help that much. Listel to 5* is just stats that probably won’t matter. I would suggest Yulia I think.

Omega does seem good for stuff like SSS5, but I think you’re past the point where SSS5 is a problem now. He’s not much help for the really tough PvE stuff like the challenges or AB.

I mean to say; I’m committing to the full journey where she is concerned. Luna is halfway to 5*, and I think she’s a good person to work on because she’s useful in several ABs. Lana and Rachel are good to work on too though since they both get another 10% damage from the talent (and Rachel dispells more debuffs to boot). I think I’ll start with Liana/Luna/Yulia (since 4* is easy to hit) and when I am doing with Luna 5* I’ll rotate one of the mages back on.

I would love to do Bozel but it’s harder to justify, as important as 100% debuff chance is that’s all it is. I somehow didn’t realize that all Listell’s talent did was up the damage, I thought there was something else in there that scaled. So no, that will have to wait.

Also, I’m proud to announce that were I to take my Breeze-enchanted Seal Guardian (30, my 3rd) to 50 today via duplicates (I won’t be, higher priorities), I sitll have 2 left over! I remember when I was desperate for more to drop so I wouldn’t need to put spirits into my sole Seal Guardian. I’ve fused at least two in the past two months and they keep on raining down (along with Hydra bows).

Yulia is an amazing amount of fun to use in both PvP and PvE. If you put a Gift of Eternal Life on her she puts out a kind of stupid combo of damage and healing even at 5*.

Did you have Jugler or not? He’s another huge priority right now since he solves so many specific problems in both AB and in PvP.

I just got Joshua to 5* and I think I might mess around for a few days and clear up some random Gates for crystals and bond unlocks. After that… I dunno. Landius from 5* to 6* is my best choice, I think, I just hate how long that grind is. Might try to get some ‘lesser’ characters who matter for ABs to 4* first (looking at you, Bernhardt).

I do. In terms of the PVP hotness that seems to be carrying forward, I have everyone but Joshua. Although a number of my characters are degrees of underbuilt (Juggler, Iris, Zerida). The good news is I have all 6 masteries of Juggler. The less good news is I have very little to work with in terms of gear (and no hat). I’m running, uh, 2 Hard Rock and 2 some other blue I don’t recall (steel maybe) so he can borrow Ledin’s Oath. But the rest of his gear is a mess. Bonds aren’t anything special (something like 6/4/4 for 3/4/5). At least he’s 4*.

Been working on Vargas very slowly on the side. At least he just got his first set of masteries completed and a few mastery stones to go with it.

I have been waffling on wehter I want to use Gift or Goddess Scepter on Yulia.

Definitely Gift on Yulia. Like Kyrios says, it’s a ridiculous amount of healing. Like 4 different heals when she attacks (Talent + Faith + Redemption/Godly Menance + Gift) And Saint AB stones are so useless that you can waste it all to max her INT.

My recommendation for Jugler would be that I went from C last time on Fenrir to A this time, and the only real change in roster (apart from everyone being generally a bit stronger) is that I switched in a 4*, 5K or so power Jugler with level 7 or so hellhounds. Adding that many debuffs (including both a minor def down and the increased damage) for ‘free’ was completely game-changing. I do have his hat, though. (I’m also pretty sure that my Apex team will run a lot more smoothly once I have him strong enough to switch in for Ledin, based on using the merc Jugler last weekend.)

With Oath, mine is 4.5k. Basically on the cusp of “I start thinking about using him outside of specific niches” (which is roughly what I consder 5k to be). Right now he’s got a 20 Kagekadan Uniform and a 40 twilight helmet a 20 King’s amulet because I didn’t have anything better to give. And it looks like Hard Rock + Ice. I will say that he defintely made a big difference in my Fenrir attempt. I went from “I’m not sure I did anything outside of score the worst achievement” to C+, not far from B. I am probably going to give it another ago before it passes.

The big difference was I basically took Listell from “ok” to “I sometimes use her in pvp” (high 5k roughly, although I am still sorting enchants she’s at like 80%+ bonds), Bernhardt to “is actually usable outside of lowest GB”, and Juggler to this. I am mostly able to consistently keep those debuffs up ( I had a little trouble here and there but I think I can improve). 6 Hellhounds and 7 Lava Titans.

I would like, by the time it passes around again, for Bernie and Juggler to be stronger. That’s likely to take the form of a few more bonds, some troop levels, and hopefully improved gear (ugh maybe I should 4* Bernie too haha). But I do think I can get to B at least because (1) I didn’t use Varna properly (sky archers lol) and (2) I made some mistakes right as I transitioned to phase 2.
