And yay, so far so good with the new RAM.

Hey guys,

Any chance we could move up game night to tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th? I think my Warmachine group is targeting Thursday. I could play Wednesday, but i think Arkon has that night booked.

That would work for me. Pretty sure my group is playing on Wednesday.

I can’t make this Tuesday but the timeslot would overall be better for me (probably).

I can probably make it tonight.

I think I could make it, might be a little late.

I am having fairly massive computer problems. The screen on my iMac keeps going black. I am troubleshooting now.

Ok, now that I’ve panicked and sent out that last post, things seem ok. We’ll see how it goes.

Awesome session last night, sorry I was late. To reiterate, Oloorin is not evil!!! He may be chaotic, and not care for petty human laws, but he isn’t outright evil!

Oloorin’s problem isn’t his alignment. His very real, and very serious problem is that he is possibly barred from the Brother Penchus Healing Club for Party Members.

Oh I am well aware of that problem…although in a pinch I do have that magical horn that can heal me.

If Humphrey ever bites the dust, say hello to a neutral or chaotic cleric!

It would be cool if there were an alchemy/potion system for DCC that had the same kind of random/odd chance of different results that the spell system has. I’d imagine that any party without a cleric type is pretty much screwed.

I have run adventures that had items that did impart corruption, but the items were weapons…I am sure it wouldn’t be too tough to come up with some potions like that…who knows someone may have already done so.

I should be set up and able to play this week despite being in San Fran for work orientation. Are we on for Thursday?

Also Rob have you given more thought to items we are looking to make?

Thursday currently works for me.

There are rules for healing potions, although it took me a bit to find them. You will have to track down a level 5 wizard who has the spell, no small feat in DCC. I’m looking through the book (which is so great, and reminds me that I need to keep re-reading it to get in touch with that awesome DCC vibe) and magic items are definitely not a reliable healing alternative. Magic items tend to be rare and even harmful to your luck if they are powerful enough (+2!).

There are other more mundane resources available to the party. There is a section on hirelings and retainers, also known as additional bags of hit points and trap checkers. They do have rules for retainer morale and just how much abuse they are willing to take. Followers are perhaps more dependable, for example, the Judge Priest might offer Brother Penchus a small detachment of the Monks of Punishment. However, even the slightest amount of blasphemy from Oloorin would send them either running or gunning for the elf’s head.

And good old caution is a good way to protect against hit point loss.

An extremely lucky thief is always a plus, and you have that in Humphrey. Keep him curious and in the front and hopefully he’ll detect anything that needs detecting before you take a hit or fall or gas cloud save effect.

A good offense is another way to keep your hit points up. Shock and awe can keep your enemy from ever hitting you. I keep going over the Mighty Deeds in my head in DCC. I know I said that decapitations were out in our last session, but that anything else was in. Go nuts! Threshing attacks that hit multiple foes on a successful deed die, bullrushes that trample multiple foes, arrow attacks that pin enemies to the wall, whatever, go for it. You have three characters with Mighty Deeds that can make those successful deeds really count.

I double posted, but I’ll use this to say that I thought about the giant insect plating. How about it will give an additional +1 on whatever armor it is built into (one time only) but it loses this effect when the wearer is hit by a critical hit.

Cool, I like it!

Thursday no longer works for me, dang it. I can’t do tonight. How about a Friday night session? Is that possible?

Friday works for me. Wish I was closer, I’d love to get in some warmachine!

I will be on a plane from San Fran to Pittsburgh unfortunately.
