If someone wants to try and mad duo rush up to 1250 I’m willing to try. I think I’m sitting at like 1060/1070 right now. I’ve topped 1250 before though. Its that push from 1140 to 1200 that is the worst.

I only play with mx and bunny now. about 1 games a day. playing a bunch of other games on the side.

I was gonna play one last night, but everyone was playing HoN and hating it so.

Personally? Yes. I’ve got over 1000 games played, and when it was briefly discovered that you could determine what your normal ELO was in a text file, I was 1440 (this was months ago). Through a couple hundred ranked solo queue games I’ve managed to stay between 1250-1350 the entire time. Personally for me, that’s where I belong and I’d like the end of season record to show it :)

Why do I care? I’m competitive and I’m an achiever, and I like making progress. /shrug

Flat armor Seals (+1.41 armor, Greater Seal of Resilience)
Flat MR Glyphs (+1.49 magic resist, Greater Glyph of Warding)
Flat mpen Marks (+.95 magic penetration, Greater Mark of Insight)

I figure I can use these on a variety of champs, and armor/mr scale into lategame very nicely, since every point of armor is 1% EHP.

Which champions are you playing?

Because Greater Glyph of Shielding (MR/Lvl) might just be better depending on the champions you play. IMO, flat MR is better for champions who want to be aggressive in the early game (rumble, xin, etc).

In this week’s round of champions, I’m mostly playing jungle Amumu, but I play Taric a lot when I’m with Qt3ers (GARIC FOR LYFE), and I play super aggressive with him in lane.

Scaling MR is totally way better than flat. They don’t overtake flat ones until level 9 I guess, but they have about twice the bonus at 18. MR is harder to stack than armor but armor is more important early game, so more MR is more important later.

So I should stick with flat armor but take scaling MR, got it.

Now that it’s mentioned, I don’t actually take that much damage from magic sources early on as Taric… it’s all being whumped on by AD stuff and tanking one too many tower hits.

MR/level doesn’t hit flat MR’s value until level 10, but that’s also the time that AP people will have some AP to do damage.

I think flat MR might still be the way to go. Laning phase is just too important.

So as Amumu, I can debuff heroes who aren’t building MR down into the negatives, particularly if I have mpen marks? :)

There are only flat pen runes, no scaling ones. They do stack with Amumu’s passive, but you can’t take people into the negatives. Only items and abilities with armor/resist “reduction” can do that, penetration stops at 0. The catch is reductions are applied before penetration so it is pretty much impossible to get a negative value. Getting someone to 0 is still great for your damage, so don’t worry about it too much.

No, you can’t penetrate into the negatives.

You can only REDUCE into the negatives via a flat debuff. Amumu’s attacks do this debuff, Abyssal Scepter does this debuff. Assume Amumu reduces someone’s 30 MR by his 25 debuff and they have 5 MR left… you have 10 MPen, you’re going to be attacking them at 0 MR, NOT -5MR.

If you had Abyssal Scepter on Amumu, then you reduce that 5 MR down to -15 MR, and your MPen serves zero purpose.

I don’t want to try to rush a particular ELO and I’m not particularly concerned about getting my ELO up for a reward, but I am curious - can you just not see your ELO until level 30? I have no idea what mine is, and do not recall seeing it on any screens.

As an aside, I find it interesting that I have never (and I do mean never, I would remember it if I had) been randomly matched with a teammate who even tried to last hit. I did once get matched against an opposing mid who last hit, but I’ve never had anyone on my team in lane with me do it. They always autoattack full time (unless they’re hiding in bushes trying to gank).
