L2manage your mana, n00b!

“Manage” is another way of saying “don’t use” which gets back to that “100% worthless” part.

I enjoyed that. Also, sweet Space Jam remix.

Playing Taric in a passive-farm lane is super fucking boring. I sit there so that they can’t dive Urgot, I heal him whenever I regen the mana, when I have enough gold for another gp5 item I go back.

Playing Taric in a lane where we can play more aggressive? Much more fun.

I could have been more aggressive but I was concentrating on farming and had bad lag spikes most of the time.

It also takes a lot of mana for me to be aggressive. Taric’s stun is definitely a nice synergy with Urgot.

I tried support for the first time in over a year yesterday and liked it. It was pleasant, and relaxing, and, yes, mellow. Sure, I died seven times, but only one of those was my fault; the other six were “My team lost the teamfight and I died” or “Master yi ran straight at me and no one stopped him and I exploded in two hits” or whatever.

I also found out that using clairvoyance effectively is an actual skill. A skill I do not possess.

Also that Kayle can play the support role in lane and transition to, y’know, doing damage in teamfights. I think I want to try that.

It didn’t help that the lane we went against the first game would have just destroyed us if we went to fight them. Playing passive and farming was absolutely the right decision.

Yeah, but I feel like Soraka or Sona would be a better passive-lane support. Soraka particularly; I could have fed you mana, and my ult would have been useful even if I was babysitting you.

Maybe I should unlock Soraka…

Whoever was pinging for me to CV certain areas possesses that skill. And I do not. :)

Mm dont know, she kinds of rules early game but sucks late game since the changes so i dont know if starting as support is really viable since you need some farm.

I just can’t see playing the new Kayle in a universe where Janna exists.

Kayle support is pretty weak.

It’s easy to forget that Taric gives a nice steady bonus to the AD’s armor, and then shattering to reduce the enemy’s armor is pretty powerful. Giving half the AD bonus of his ult to an ally is also nice, even at level 6.

She is not a support character, her heal got nerfed and now sucks, her ult is the only support thing it has.

You are supossed to use on-hit items on her like on Teemo now, she is basically a carry but her damage suffers a bit late game.

Honestly I don’t think she’s any good at either support or damage anymore.

After a little while you’ll get a feel for it. Is your teammate’s lane pushed up, and no one’s seen the jungler for a bit? He’s probably in that bush about to gank. Once you develop an idea of what junglers like to start where, and how long it takes them, you can often find them in the jungle as well.

I often skip Taric’s ult for a while in favor of more heal (or, rarely, Shatter, depending on the lane) unless we’re pushing a tower early. He doesn’t have the mana pool to keep it up for very long, and early levels in heal are very strong.

When I think of characters like Kayle, I pose a question to myself: Have I ever felt threatened or annoyed by this hero? For Kayle, the answer is no. She is crap. She is just someone that is fun to play after playing typical good heroes for so long.

Huh. How do you skill Taric? I’ve been maxing Shatter, because even with a level 1 heal, I can still keep my lanemate topped off in a passive lane, and in an aggressive lane we’re going to be relying no Shatter to get the kills moreso than on healing.

Yeah, but laning with Pogo’s Urgot, Soraka would have been a far better choice, because I could have fed him mana for him to keep harassing with.

Not “far better,” just somewhat different. I much prefer Taric’s stun to Soraka’s mana.

I dunno, Pogo. That first game, I went for probably 15+ minutes without throwing a stun, or at least it felt that way. Just sat in the bush and healed you when my mana regen’d, for literally long enough to recall, buy a philo, run back, do it again, recall, buy a Heart of Gold, run back, do it some more.

You could have passed the time by yelling at me to stop missing creeps, or playing Eye of the Tiger.

It depends on my lane. I almost always start with one level in Dazzle, and then don’t touch it again til everything else is maxed, as more points don’t affect the stun duration; then I start in on the heal most of the time. I usually put a point in Shatter by 4, aiming mainly for the armor, not the damage/-armor, though I’ll skip it if the lane is heavy on magic damage. Then if we’re playing the farm game I usually max heal, getting ult only if I expect to be pushing a tower or engaging in an extended fight. I get more levels in Shatter if it’s a heavy physical damage lane or if we’re being very aggressive.

This might not be optimal, but makes sense to my mind.

Ah, see, I’m used to playing Taric in the GARIC LANE IS BEST LANE lane, where mxlm and I play stupidly aggressive and go for kills from level 1 onwards.

Even still, I feel like Shatter is going to be more powerful for a counter-dive (the -armor on tower hits must really hurt, HUH DIVERS) and I can keep my carry topped off with level 1 heal regardless.

But both of our ways make sense! :)
