About Jax.
Why Empower -> Leap Attack? It seems that if you did the opposite, you’d get an extra auto attack, because Empower resets your attack time, right?

It is champion dependent for me. If they have a skill that boosts a stat, then I build items for the others. Tristana has a skill for atk spd, so I get damage for her. Vayne gets true damage from her W and higher damage from her ult, so I get atk spd. AD Sion has an ult that gives him all the atk spd and lifesteal you could need for 20 seconds, and his E gives him 65 damage and more hp when maxed, so he is built with crit.
Some Jax comments from my experience with him:
@Aaron - Empower -> Leap Strike is generally preferred if you’re pure harassing, as that combo adds damage in a way that doesn’t draw creep aggro. If you’re planning on continuing to be aggressive after the leap you’re only going to get an extra attack w/ Empower if you’re using it after an auto-attack after leaping, which is usually enough time for potential victims to create distance with an ability or blow Flash.
Regarding Rageblade: I tend to agree with Pogo that on paper Rageblade looks like a good fit for Jax but in practice there are arguably better choices. The bonus AP that Rageblade gives through stacks is only going to partially benefit his abilities since all his casting is front loaded. Contrast that with someone like Nidalee whose heal typically comes towards the end of her rotation when she’d have full stacks anyway. Jax is already a ‘dig in and ramp up’ champ so I would rather itemize in a way that mitigates that ramp up time rather than mirrors it. Like Pogo mentioned, anything with flat AS is going to get you to full stacks faster than Rageblade would.
For Rageblade’s ~2300 gold I would favor Sheen and parts of Zeal or BFS and dagger for Black Cleaver if I’m going for a more AD oriented build or the better half of Deathcap for an AP build.

Right. Lazy said something stupid like that regarding WuKong the other night as well, about casting his Q while dashing, which is the wrong thing to do unless you’re guaranteeing some last-hit assassination.
Sometimes you don’t want to draw creep aggro, also Empower boosts your Q.

As someone who played Jax back in the old days when he was the king of LoL, Rageblade is bought because back then Rageblade and Triforce WERE the only real hybrid items. You pretty much went Rage blade, boots, triforce, atmas etc.
When Gunblade initially came out it was pretty awful and not worth the cost to build/buy. Now its a slightly different story, but its possible people are stuck in the past.

somehow manage to win a ranked game even though our last pick sucked as malphite.
we had a shitty team comp too.
Nid/Brand/Shaco(first pick, overall shaco is a shitty pick, but at least the guy playing him is decent)/Tryn(in da jungle da mighty jungle, tryn sleep tonight)/malphite
vs
Xin/Malzahar/Alistair/Cait/Cho
mid game team fight came down to me suicide attack on cait or malzahar. malzahar then ults me, I ult during his ult, then I kill malzahar or caitlynn.
late game(35 minutes or so) I can reliably go in, kill Malzahar, eat his ult, Kill Xin, and die.

WuKong isn’t meant to be a jungler is he? I tried jungling him last night (had a team with Taric Sona so I decided to do something crazy as well).
I did manage a triple kill with him which was pretty cool. I feel like his E is kind of buggy, or at least misleading when it lets you target someone.

I imagine you can jungle him with E. It’s gotta be slow as shit until he gets a Razor, though.
I said you can do that when harassing people to get the extra damage on your dash attack. Waiting until afterwards means you’re sitting there autoattacking and might not even get the second hit if they turn and run away. It is the same reason you Empower Jax’s Jump Strike. It also means if they have a nuke or stun you’re more likely to get hit than if you vanish and leave a clone behind. Dashing and immediately leaving a clone makes Wukong the king of being a goddamn harassing jerk in lane since you can’t retaliate if he does that.
Also I totally forgot to bring it up earlier, but I don’t know why you would champion Rageblade on Akali and then say it sucks on Jax who is actually made for autoattacking.

Wukong’s E gives him increased attack speed. You SHOULD be able to get in an autoattack.
But if you REALLY want to harass, I’m gonna go ahead and give you a little tip… target a creep behind the person you’re harassing so that you get in multiple auto attacks before doing his juke. You’re likely to do more damage at level 5 with that maneuver.
And I never championed Rageblade on Akali. I’m questioning its use on Jax with the justification that it’s somehow “synergy,” but the stats make sense for Jax after I realize that he has multiple skills scaling off both AD and AP. What a broken ass champ.
So your tip is to use a dash that deals 150+.8 attack damage at level 3 on a creep so that you can stand there autoattacking afterwards. That sounds like a bit of a waste to me, but whatever works for you.
Maybe he puts only 1 point in the dash and maxes his slam?

pogo totally champion rageblade on akali, it took us + chiffy to convince him that rageblade isn’t that useful on her.

Me saying it’s a pretty good midgame item isn’t exactly championing.
And yes, Lazy must live in some weird alternate universe where you have Rank 3 of two skills at level 5.
What? This makes no sense.
Pogo
3098
Oh yeah dude, that’s really championing.
Your whole fucking argument makes no sense on its face, because you’re assuming a Rank 3 E instead of a Rank 3 Q.
I’m not gonna discuss this with you anymore. You’d probably build a fucking Gunblade on Wukong.

Lazy builds Gunblades on everyone.
Why would you not rank up his E instead of Q? It does twice the damage and is way more useful. It’s like maxing out Jax’s W instead of his jump. I’m sorry it makes you mad that I prefer to nuke an enemy and disappear rather than nuke a creep and stand around autoattacking.
I like building Gunblades on hybrid characters, is that so wrong? It’s like people never noticed that it’s no longer the early Gunblade that only did 30 damage and had 15% life steal and spell vamp.
