Great time to poke with W is when you can utilize it to achieve last hits on creeps, too.

Taking blue quickly requires two turrets, so you may have to forego ranking up a W if you want to do that.

Don’t build a Ghostblade, build a Wits End if you want more damage (as it also makes you tankier). Also, I would never buy CD boots. You should either be buying Merc Threads (say 80% of the time) or buying Ninja Tabi.

5 million $ prize pool for Season 2 :O

This is definitely the case. Just last night, I had one of those games where my team was a loose collective of idiots. Meanwhile, the opposing team just played well together.

You know how most random matchup games (particularly at the lower levels) consist of everyone doing the rote “Get in your 2-1-2 lane set-up, play in your lane for 10 minutes, then go do teamfights, then push,” thing? The other team roamed people so they put good pressure on individual lanes, often rolling 3 people into the middle (while maintaining coverage on the side lanes with 1 person each), occasionally rolling onto a side lane, etc. They seemed damned near prescient - pretty clearly they had wards up and were coordinating for kills on low health opponents, focusing tower pushes, etc.

Unless there is a huge disparity in player skill, an unfocused team just isn’t going to do much against that type of play. The average random pubbie player just isn’t good enough to take advantage of the lanes that are left denuded (i.e. 1v2), particularly because teams that are good enough to pull off those types of tactics also tend to have players who are not stupidly aggressive when defending a 1v2. E.g. the defending player on those types of teams does not view hugging a tower as some type of weakness, and so you aren’t going to be able to easily chip him down when he overextends.

(As an aside, that is something that independently drives me nuts. As a jungler, I can’t tell you how often in the very early game that the solo side lane that is caused by having a jungler feels like he has to be out in the middle of the lane against two opponents. Unsurprisingly, he gets rapidly chipped down, and immediately begins bitching about not having help from the jungler. If the idiot would just use his tower, he could get the solo lane XP advantage and let his jungler properly jungle. But no, the game is about autoattacking creeps and getting kills no matter what - what kind of a man would he be if he didn’t try to push up to the enemy’s tower at all costs at all times?)

Riot to Valve: Haw haw!

This $5 million prize pool is just going to make everyone madder when Riot’s shitty client disconnects players in a LAN tournament setting and Phreak pretends it’s not their fault

But it’s for the entire Season, not for one tournament I think.

$5 million is a lot of Teemo skins.

Funnest ranked game ever. Their team’s first two picks? Heimer and Annie.

My pick is fourth. I choose Veigar. Heimer out farmed me at the start and I was worried at first. I ended the game 16/0/5 287 CS. Our Singed was great, he fed their Annie 5 kills early. She ran at me with a Mejai’s when I had rank two Ult. Did not work out for their team the rest of the game. :D

ETA: Ended the game a little shy of 850 AP with a lichbane. They surrendered when I three shot a tower after a team fight huehuehue

This week’s free champ rotation:

Annie, Morgana, Rammus, Maokai, Blitzcrank, Warwick, Master Yi, Kog’Maw, Caitlyn, Lux.

Sweet, I’ve been wanting to give warwick a try.

That’s how to end the night. So. Much. Fun.

Though in fairness, I don’t think the opposition would agree. Hell, I had 4k unspent at the end.

lol, 12-2-5 at 20 minutes. Nice.

I love Irelia. She is all I love about Renekton but with more farm, more sustain, more tankiness and less build compromises.

How do folks chose a first item on her? Boots are possible, but I haven’t missed not having them. Doran’s shield if you are likely to face AD, regrowth pendant if you are unsure? I took regrowth in two games and in both games built it into a Philo. However, I am unsure I really need the damn thing. It slows my progress to TF without a huge benefit - I don’t seem to burn a ton of mana… Perhaps leave it unbuilt for a FON? Or build but sell it to complete the TF as required?

It takes a philostone 10 minutes to make the ~300 gold difference in cost from a Doran’s shield. At that point, if you sell the Philo you take a 100 gold loss. At 15 minutes, it’s a 50 gold gain. I don’t think a philo should really be slowing you down on the way to TF, but of course individual game circumstances will vary wildly.

Here is my opinion: you lost because you played Janna. Janna doesn’t win games. If you want to win games, you need to win them for your team. The highest ELO players in LoL are the ones who can play very good carries.

Oh really http://riotstats.com/versions/1-38-44

Janna, Soroka, and Sona all in top 10 for W/L ratio and if you look over the history they almost always are.

Yes, really. You’re misunderstanding copet’s point. Janna is a double-plus awesome support hero, but she isn’t a do-work one. She can only help other people do work. If you’re Janna, and your teammates are worthless, you will probably lose even if you play really well. Janna’s win/loss stats are a reflection of how awesome she is at support, which is why she ranks so highly.

Correct me if I’m wrong, Annie should basically never be in a 2man sidelane?

No AP burst carry should ever be in a 2man sidelane.

According to the EU meta, of course, which is the meta that destroys low ELO games due to getting people to think that they need to have a certain setup in order to win the game, which is horse shit.
