Sounds pretty pro!

Yay, another win as Irelia, ranked this time. Four on the trot. I did pretty well, if I don’t say so myself, and killed top Kog three times, although was ganked and died twice. The rest of my team did great and team fights were a real stomp in the end.

The best parts of the game were duelling Kog. He actually got first blood on me (I had no idea he could hit so hard, so early) but once I picked up a bit of my burst the duels swung in my favour - that being said - only just. A couple of times I escaped with about 50hp and managed to juke poor Kog, denying him an explodey death kill twice.

First, I didn’t say one HAS TO PLAY THE EU meta. I just said I didn’t think it was any harder to do than a double stun lane, etc. It’s a style choice that oddly happens to be adopted to be used in most tournament play at this moment, see dreamhack for examples. My personal experience has been that having a sustain lane bottom is quite strong, and riot seems to think they have to nerf this play now (see the changes to healing support champs that sherelia has proposed.) My experience also comes from playing 5 man premade teams far more often than solo queue, which is almost a different game - I can get away with all sorts of crazy bullshit in solo queue that I can’t ever do in pre-5.

Second, how do you think matchmaking works? Do you think it puts two teams of wildly different elos together so one team stomps the other? Or do you think elo is poorly ascertained? One of those two must be happening for your opponenets to have very different elo than you.

What’s wrong with lichbane Lux?

lichbane lux makes sense. her passive encourages you to attack between spellcasts anyway. Granted, I prefer to get some CDR first from a Morello’s or something, but it’s a strong item for her.

Nossir. My matchmaking rating, or equivalent thereof, is high enough that when I solo queue, everyone else is level 30 and many have a positive W/L in ranked games.

We just stomped our lane so hard that the enemy team degenerated into fit of trolololling, is my guess.

if you or your opponent have premade groups, everyone in the group automatically get their ELO adjusted higher, also normal match use Normal elo which is hidden, so even if that guy is 1500 ranked elo, his normal elo might be shit, because he doesn’t play much normal games.

Or, his normal elo could be far, far higher.

Her passive is one of those things you forget about after the laning phase, because it’s a stupid and dangerous passive that gets you fucking slaughtered because you’re playing a ranged burst AP, not a right-clicker. Orianna’s passive is that same kind of useless crap. So you don’t really get Lich Bane. Lux is a noob stomper so some do get sheen if they know how to work the passive during laning.

I have to agree with pogo on this - lux is a distance AP / support champ who shouldn’t be within auto attack range of many champs - I’ve never seen a tanky lux who can survive much burst, and that irelia/garin/etc is going to eat you if you get nice and close.

So, let’s say his elo is much lower in normal. Then by my logic I could have a much lower elo if that’s true. Still, I guess we’re beating 1500 ELO ranked guys on a regular basis, so unless he has a low elo in normal, and was carried by someone else in solo queue, I’m not sure how it works. When you compare this over many games played (my number of observations is 50+), I can imagine some cases of people being outliers, but my guess would be the opposite effect - plenty of people who are unranked in solo queue (because they don’t play) play about 1200 ELO.

One simply can’t say which of these cases happens in any particular game, but you’d have to argue that there’s a strong trend towards MOST people having low ELO in normal queue and high ELO in ranked for your case to make sense, given my set of observations.

Did you do this, or did chiffy carry you? Was it ranked, or normal queue where you got lucky and got a champ that simply crushes trynd in lane?

Here’s something scary I noticed the other day - Snoopeh (an amazing EU jungler/jax player) has a solo queue rating of 2300+ (#8 EU), but his ranked 5 is 1600. A few weeks ago, it was 1400, so in the range where I could have played against him if we got really unlucky.

He might be talking about the Trynd that was in a game against a bunch of us in a premade. It was a really high-ELO Trynd, but I don’t think he was jungling, he was laning, and he admitted in all-chat that he was playing casually.

So uhh… Idrisz, unless you’re being facetious, stop using that dude to say that you wiped the floor with him.

This entire argument is stupid.

ur stoopd

I’m just a scrub, who knows he’ll never be particularly good…

I was jungling, mx laned again their tryn, he is 2015 elo, 66% of the ranked games he played was Tryn.

his score is 3/10/1, my score is 10/1/5, 22 minutes game, I stomped him pretty good.

I know dude, I was there, winning mid against Caitlyn.

Also, that site is pretty cool:

Most picked, aggressive, and suicidal champion being Brand? Awesome.

It’s like you guys forget that you’re talking to idrisz.

riotstat isn’t particularly accurate about most pick because it only have champion information on game people submitted.

so unless you or someone else submit every game, the most pick/kill/assist isn’t too accurate, nor is the kill/death/assist ratio, but the win/loss ratio is pretty accurate since those information get saved in all of the logfiles.

I submit my games so i bet thats most of the games you played with me.

Yeh I realize that now. I don’t feel like installing their program to automatically update it though… possibly because I care about my stats and ratios and how good I am about 1/10th the amount that idrisz does.
