Oh, Chiffy was on EU West last night with me - we didn’t end up in the same game but his lvl11 Newb account Kenen took three (?) Warmog’s and ended up at 5400 health. Pretty funny stories were coming out of his /tells.

I’ve still been playing random pick up games but took the advice here to drop the support champion. Masochist that I am I picked an unloved glass cannon type (veiger), but so far it’s felt far more comfortable and I feel like I’ve been getting a better handle on the game. Also, he’s kind of adorable and reminds me of my daughter (heh, don’t ask).

So Riot is doing limited time champion bundles for 2600 RP each. The first 2 sets start now and last until September 2nd. The first pack is Jarven, Sona Maoki, Brand and Miss Fortune. The second is Pantheon, Akali, Xin, Nocturne, and Olaf.
Also, Teemo, Jax, and Warwick are getting permanent IP reductions down to 1350 each.
Teemo might be fun for 1350. Warwick’s price definitely seemed a bit high before for being such a noob-friendly jungler.

Again, this is my NOOB stomping character and build. Not my “Win Tryhard games against people of equal skill” recommendation.
I’m well aware that tanky DPS champs are better overall. But I think that against people who don’t know what the fuck they’re doing, Master Yi is one of the absolute best champs. He has ridiculous farming and lane pushing ability, and you can translate that farm into the ability to carry a bunch of completely hopeless noobs to victory.
Garen can’t push for shit on his own, so he’s not good for this exercise. Udyr would be great but he’s not 450 IP.
Veigar’s fun. I would recommend, when you play him, build the deathfire grasp item (shows up under ability power, mana regen or cooldown reduction). It has an active ability that acts as an extra nuke to add to your combo, and it’s really, really good to try to get in the habit of remembering to use actives on items early on. So your combo goes stun, then W, then the item (I always move it to the #1 spot), then your Q and R for the coup de gras. If anything survives that it’s wondering what the hell just happened to it.
Yeah, Deathfire grasp is almost always the first (or perhaps second, if you build a Tear first) item to make on Veigar, in my limited experience.

If you pick Renekton you can start murdering the fuck out of your opposition at level 2. Hell, pick up a sword of the occult and cackle maniacally. Farm noobs, not minions.

Speaking of Renekton, I just picked Renek in ranked because, uh, because I accidentally banned Irelia. The enemy sent Katarina against me. It went about as you’d expect. They also sent Ashe against Malz, and Cass/Olaf against Cait/Soraka. Two of them rage quit after their surrender vote failed.
I am trying to find good poppy info for a friend as well as dig up our earlier discussions on building Warwick. But I can’t find either - at least not the WW stuff, which I know we have discussed. Halp?
Look at Crumbz guide on Solomid, he’s the only one that consistently plays her at high Elo.
What sort of info were you looking for about WW?
Frost is jungling her at, like, lvl11. He was followiing some guide which was suggesting pure damage/lifesteal/AS - I believe more tank is commonly desired… ?

So, I started playing this a few days ago. Fun so far. There’s too much stuff to keep track of and I’m sure I’m doing everything wrong, but oh well.
So far I’ve tried:
A lady with a top hat who fires a rifle and drops bear traps. (seem most effective of what I’ve played)
A lady with a wand who can fire a mega laser beam and some kind of weird boomerang force field generator.
A lady who is some kind of witch or demon who can make patches of the ground poisonous or temporarily lock people in a cage.
A flying lady with a flaming sword. (love the style)
Is it incredibly wrong to just buy the sets of gear they recommend in the shop?
It’s certainly not optimal but if you are new I wouldn’t worry about it. They have updated most of the recommended stuff so that you won’t be lead to badly astray. You’ll learn the items over time.
Yes. Pick a hero you want to play a read a guide on solomid or mobafire. The recommended items are often questionable; for example, Lichbane as a first core item on Lux is just a bad idea.
