Are there any good videos or streams on tanking? Right now I can play Ashe and Morgana and that’s about it and the tank role is one people often fail to fill in the solo queue. I decided to give Leonna a try, but it has been ugly, really ugly. Not “well if I just do this a little different” but “I’m failing and I don’t know why” ugly.

I’m not sure if it’s because I suck with Leonna or due to my total lack of melee experience.

I am not convinced by Leona - as for streams I like the recordings of Guardsman Bob, Chaosx, and Rain Man: all will have some tankiness somewhere in their streams, I hope.

No, seriously, someone did this. They were beyond worthless, and forced Therlun (Gangplank) to 1v2 vs. Amumu and Garen; I tried to surrender around 20 minutes since the game was going so badly. But pub Teemo wasn’t bad, and our Gangplank/Orianna (peacedog)/jungle Rammus (me) managed to carry the day. After several failed ganks early I managed to overcome my deficit, and their best player credited me with the win, which while I don’t think was wholly true, was a nice compliment. A well-fought game on both sides, mostly.

Lee Sin is fantastic, and also exceptionally difficult to play well. Or even competently. Which is why Free Sin is the second worst thing ever.

I don’t think there are truly bad characters - just most of them are outclassed.

This is what I typed up for a friend who is still fairly new, particularly to meta strategic thinking.

Most of these characters are, at this stage of the game, clearly outclassed by a similar character:

Don’t get:

Corki or Cassiopeia - Get Caitlyn instead
Tristana - Get Vayne instead
Evelynn, Twitch - Get Akali instead or Shaco
Malphite - Get Alistair instead
Karma - Get Janna, Sona or Soraka instead
LeBlanc - Get Lux instead
Udyr - Get Warwick instead
Sivir - Get Gangplank instead

Nidalee, Zylean, Kayle, Heimerdinger, Yorick - Just difficult to play correctly [/i]

Udyr? Outclassed? He’s still a fucking beast, he’s just not 100% OP bullshit since they changed the wriggle’s proc. Cassi is a fine champ, and certainly wouldn’t be replaced by a ranged AD.

I would say that Eve is currently close to being just flat-out bad. Also, Corki is the one that outclasses Caitlyn and Cassiopeia is an AP caster, not an AD carry, so shouldn’t even be compared to those two. Actually you should have Sivir replace Cass since Sivir is a ranged AD carry and GP is a melee carry who doesn’t play anything like her. Udyr actually still probably outclasses Warwick in a lot of situations too, especially at any kind of tanking. LeBlanc should probably replace Eve in your equations too, since she’s a bursty assassin type more directly outclassed by Akali than similar to Lux, who is a ranged damage support thing.

Meh. If he’s starting out let him play anyone. The important thing is to learn last-hitting and map awareness, not finding your main.

Walter - You impugn Karma’s good name. She’s not Soraka, she’s … different. A champion who combines healing/damage prevention with damage output; a farm-scaling semi-support semi-nuker.

Udyr’s still quite good, certainly better than Warwick in any game I’ve been in.

Also, LeBlanc -> Lux? Comparing a high-mobility assassin with a snare/root Mage/nuker?

Just had a fantastic game. Lots of back and forth, looked like we were in trouble, and then, wham, everyone just stampeded up the middle obliterating everything.We killed the first terrace turret, the inhibitor, the two inner turrets, and their base thingy, in probably about 15 seconds altogether.

I played Tristana. Her High Speed attack towards the end, with enhancements to critical strikes and enhancements to armor penetration just evaporates things. At this point she’s definitely my “main”.
