Morde is maybe not a completely terrible ban at low Elo. I still don’t think he’s a great champion – and I’ve shit stomped every Morde I’ve played against recently – but a lot of people at that level just don’t know how to deal with him and he pubstomps those people.

It’s not that he is the worst possible ban. I mean, you could always ban Eve or something like that and do worse.

It’s that in a world of Amumus, Oriannas, etc., you’re banning Morde?

I’m not a good player, and I can think of a number of champions that drive me nuts (Cait, Irelia, Jax, Gangplank, Nocturn, Xin) that, while they might not be the best possible bans, I would still rather see gone before Morde.

Jax in particular pubbies don’t seem to get; he always gets fed and just mauls my whole team after that.

I just think it’s weird that when every other female in LoL is clearly wearing makeup, including new Irelia, you single out old Irelia for having weird makeup. I also don’t know how you can look at new Irelia with a critical eye and think that’s NOT a terrible outfit. Old Irelia was wearing crazy ornate platemail, new Irelia honestly really does makes me think of Power Rangers.

It’s just that; old-Irelia’s makeup was both weird and (to me) pops out. If you look at Lux’s better two skins (the default one and the Spellthief skin), her makeup is a hell of a lot closer to tasteful. Or Leona’s. Or Poppy’s.

Then again, I did just list, like, three out of what, five? total? non-skanked up female Champions in League of Legends.

Also, new Irelia’s outfit is pretty terrible, I agree. I just think that old Irelia was even worse; better concept with regards to her armor, worse execution with regards to both the armor and Irelia herself…

Ah, they rewrote that bit of Lore then. From what I remember they actually rewrote a substantial amount of it a while back, it certainly makes a bit more cohesive sense now.

Just play Irelia in her Ninja (Nightblade) skin, problem solved.

It depends. Some animu is about RIDICULOUSLY LARGE BOOBS and other animu is about NO BOOBS AT ALL.

All I know about the lore of LoL is what gets posted in champion previews and when I very rarely read a backstory while waiting for something ingame.

Champion’s stories are all in your ingame profile.

LoLWiki (Kennen for example) has both background on all the champions, along with their “judgements”, and a comprehensive lore section about cities and stuff.

Not all of the champions have judgments, though. It’s worth pointing out that the League of Legends lore/backstory is head and shoulders better written than MtG or any MMORPG, so it’s not like pulling teeth to read character profiles while people bicker over who gets what lane. :)

I refused to ban Morde in last nights ranked game - someone on our team picked him and stomped faces. Maybe he is a good ban at my elo.

Well that depends. If you had banned him, no one could have picked him and your teammate might not have stomped faces. :)

That’s my point - we had first pick, so I could have grabbed him for someone else. It really seems folks quail before him at my elo!

I managed to grab him in one game the other night and a dude on the other team raged and randomed. Alas it wasn’t enough to propel my team to victory. Our Annie kept telling me to “tank the fight” or whatever not comprehending that Mord has no initiation.

The one fight I walk in first I got blown up and Annie yelled at me for not tanking. I love this game.

Kinda bummed no Dominion this week. I’ve been sitting on my 1256 ELO, totally avoiding ranked games, but I might need to worry about ELO decay now as it has been ~3 weeks so far.

I’ve never actually seen my ELO decay, but I’ve never ignored it before. I mean, I miss playing ranked, but I don’t want to drop below and miss out on the bronze reward :(

Anyone have any information on the ELO decay? How much? After how long? etc

Also I am really looking forward to Dominion. Capture and hold games that last around 15 minutes while everyone runs madly around the map with no farming? That sounds like the kind of game I could actually stand to play with random people!
